It seems that nobody posts here in a while, but since it's a sticky, I guess there is no risk of commiting a necromancing crime, lol.

My thoughts on the subject matter:
Its illegal and there are laws that specifically define what it is and what you shouldn't be doing.... Do i think its "morally" wrong? No... Anybody who equates it to stealing does not understand what it is. Just my two cents.... |

In recent times, I've only been pirating games to see if I want to buy them or not. If a demo is available then there is no reason to pirate the game.

Piracy is one thing but use of legit backups should not be discouraged. I like the XBox 360's built in game install options where you need only have the disc in the drive to verify you own it then it plays the game from the installed data on the drive.

playstation plus is a direct deterant for me in regards to piracy. with free games every month i have no need to pirate anything as there is always a game i havent played yet

I download something if i like it. I buy it..simple.
Steam weekends, etc render useless for a PC gamer being a *Pirate* because of low prices (nice prices) you got something legit instead of running something that was not *proper* released. Also you get some support from the game companies (sometimes..). I don't know..i think being a *pirate* is getting a bit old. Yeah you can download something to *test it* as a demo but at the end most of the products i tested so far i ended up buying them. And nah it's not the good Samaritan tale. At this rate being a pirate is not something rentable. (terms of cash) You can get the damn thing on a weekend paying half it's real value.
