Question PS3 temperature readings

was playing my ps3 (which is a 60 GB PHAT CECHA12) for awhile and managed to record these details using the temp feature in multiman, is my ps3 running too hot? time to do a mod? what do you guys think? here are the readings taken in 2 seperate days

day 1

Cold boot temp stabilized at
CPU: 74'C RSX: 59'C
after one hour of NFS most wanted
CPU: 76'C RSX: 62'C

day 2

Cold boot temp stabilized at
CPU: 74'C RSX: 57-58'C
2 hours of Assassin's Creed ll
CPU: 70'C RSX: 60'C
followed by 45 mins of NFS most wanted
CPU: 72'C RSX: 60'C

so thats it. i will keep recording my temp stats so for now what do you guys think? too high? or im good ?

Your good bro, if CPU gets over 80 then worry...cause you will have to change thermal paste.

Or risk ylod

I wish there was a config file we could edit to change the fan speed when either the cpu or gpu hit 70. Not really sure at what temp the ps3 decides to kick it up a notch.

You know it could all depend how your ps3 is placed? Like it you have it near a wall or other things stopping venting good. One thing that made me freaking mad was I just bought a ps3 slim 320 GB for 300 dollars next thing I know, the f**ker was heating up very fast. I contacted sony asking what the hell is wrong they just said make sure it's in a open area. Meaning not next to a wall or having the air limited. ( not much of a vent) So what I did was I took two cardboard things from the box it came with and jacked it up moved it about 6 inches from the shelf and it was cooling down better. It's jacked one inch off the ground an the thing is two inches wide. But now I have my ps3 by the fireplace but still jacked up. ( note, the fireplace isn't real and don't heat up)

I have my fan controller mod installed,
CPU 48'c
RSX 45'c

This is my constant rate even after hours on end of gaming!

You need a 250k potentiometer but Im using a 1M. Then wire the fan cables to it.
