Hi guys

i am new here, need help, have a new e3 flasher unboxed, and have my ps3 slim cech2001a.

gone through the forum and thread.

my ps3 was on 3.21 originally, i have upgraded it to 3.55 ofw.

what steps to follow to install the rogero cfw? and what steps to skip?
do i have to QA flag? when?
do i have to dehash? when?

i also need to swap my 120gb hdd with a 1tb hdd while performimg the upgrade.

and at the same time use the 120gb as an OFW which can be upgraded to 4.xx OFW later.

ok to put the latest rogero 4.30v2 cfw on your ps3 follow these steps

1. create a folder on your usb stick called PS3
2. create a folder inside PS3 called UPDATE
3. put rogero 4.30v2 into UPDATE
4. rename rogero 4.30v2 cfw to PS3UPDAT (it will now be PS3UPDAT.bin)
5. put usb stick into usb 0 (closest to the bdvd drive)
6. unplug ps3 from mains
7. plug ps3 back into mains
8. press and hold power button on ps3
9. ps3 will beep as it turns on then beep again after a min or so then beep and turn off
10. press power again and hold. ps3 will beep as it turns on then after a min double beep. let go of power button now
11. press ps button
12. select option 6
13. follow onscreen instructions
14 your on rogero 4.30v2 cfw why do you want a step 14??

I have a PS3 thats on 4.31 but "downgradable"
CECH 2501-A and MinVerChk says it can be downgraded to 3.40 or later

The only problem is I dont have steady hands in order to do it myself
I loved the members offering the downgrade service section. Only US and UK seem to be covered though

Any chance of members who might be able to help out in the Canada / Quebec / Montreal area??

I don't think postal out of Canada to the USA is all that expensive. I order modding supplies from Canada all the time and shipping with UPS is fairly cheap.

Its not about the expense involved in shipping. I'd rather take it and bring it back myself. I dont feel too comfortable shipping my PS3 via UPS Fedex or regular post. I've had plenty of experience with them when I managed a warehouse....

Thanks for the quick reply.

Some questions before i delve in.

1 - I am on the 3.55 OFW.
a - I dont need to downgrade with the flasher?
b - I keep the flasher on the ps3 while doing these steps?
c - First time install/upgrade with the 120gb hdd or the 1tb hdd?
d - It should be the 1tb instead for the CFW and not 120gb.
e - Should i first prepare the 1tb hdd with e3 flasher for the 3.55 OFW?
f - And then upgrade the 1tb hdd and keep the 120gb for the OFW?

2 - Dual booting with the e3 flasher.
a - I have to upgrade first to the CFW and then change the hdd or vice versa?

3 - Skipping the steps.
a - As per the tutorial, which steps to skip entirely.
Under the "just downgrade with E3"
Downloads (SKIP, Y/N?)
Setting Up The E3 Flasher (SKIP, Y/N?)
create your dump(SKIP, Y/N?)
Byte reverse(SKIP, Y/N?)
verify the dumps(SKIP, Y/N?)
installing the downgrade patch(SKIP, Y/N?)
Finishing the down grade in service mode(SKIP, Y/N?)
De-hashing(SKIP, Y/N?)

Under the "dual boot with E3"
downgrade the ps3
install cfw to the E3 NOR chip
preparing the 1 key fast swap

3 - The steps in your reply i suppose are between the Downgrade and Dualboot.
"You can now install the 3.55cfw of your choice. that’s it simple."

4 - Tomorrow i decide to come back or downgrade.
a - I still dont do the QA flaging?
a - And the dehashing?

took my ps3 apart and installed the E3 flasher it powered on and the flasher light up then shut back off with blinking blue light and i took the E3 flasher off and tried it and still same result i got when i had the flasher on any help would be greatly appreciated
