I think quoting this in a way sums up how easy it is to manipulate people, it's not that there is any need for a valid argument - but that suggesting the opposite reasoning is deemed unpatriotic/unamerican and the fear of this suggestion is enough

If something goes wrong, instead of seek for a solution it's 10 times easier to point the finger to video game culture to *create*, *distort* innocent minds.

If you are under the influence and you gone happy trigger jack i think in some way it's *justified* but today media will label that case (some random junkie, pedophile, massacre like this one) that he was playing GTA4 or COD and he went berserk so he acted under the influence and also have severe mental issues.
That way, i don't know much about legal system on US but in some parts of the world the one who commited homicide, etc is labeled as a nutcase (even if he is not and acted without being under influence and with his common sense) that way, years of prison are reduced and the ****er get's out of prison in less than 10 years.

I agree like i said our system is f**ked up that way and i hate it too that they get off on an insanity plea and back on the streets so all the more to have that extra protection. but unfortunately society here likes to take the easy way out by pointing the finger at like video games instead of taking responsibility that they had ****ty parenting skills.

not to mention that at that time our government represenatives were the Brits, not the democratically elected officials of today

and if the government really wanted to "come after us", who here has the fire power to go against the United States Military?

Im a gun "fan", but we need stricter laws. Its too easy to get guns, legally or otherwise. Most importantly we have to stop killing each other, every problem doesnt need to be solved with a shootout.

Ban all guns except for jobs that actually require them, the police force as an example, not ever tom, dick and harry needs a gun despite what they might actually think, the only reason they feel they need to carry a gun is because other people are legally allowed to carry them, remove that legal right and you no longer have a need to carry :P

And yes i know there are going to be those "But the 1st amendment says" sheep who will claim they have a right to do it, those people have no right to complain when shootings like this happen because its their mentality that allows this **** to happen in the first place, yes i'm not american but i dont have to be american to see a retarded law when i see it

As said in the previous shooting thread, banning guns will just reduce the amount of gun crime. However other types of violent crime will go up.

Guns make the killing easy and the number of killings high, whilst a knife or a sword will still kill people but a lot less. And there's no stopping the person getting the gun illegally.

Of course a gun is an east and quicky way to go if they killer intends to commit suicide afterwards, but would be a lot more painful with a knife and would reduce the chances of such acts, but only reduce, a person will still do such a thing.

I do agree that video games are not to blame in general, but there are some
specific cases of video games that promote *subtly* killing of other human
races and different background ethnicity.

Taking COD for an example, while killing Zombies seems to be Okay by almost
everyone (no one will defend a zombie), it seems from my experience of living in
the US that people that play and enjoy this game are also don't mind killing
depicted NPCs with a beard and turbans (a.k.a terrorists, according to them).
That in turn will plant slowly but surly an idea in the gamers heads that it is fine
to kill anyone who is from eastern background and have a turban and a beard.

Besides the political hidden messages in these games, to make the matter
worse, taking Medal of Honor for an example, the publisher took down the ability
to play and take the role as the enemy due to complains of the families of the
deceased soldiers' in Afghanistan, because that hurt their feelings! teh, Give me a break!

Sarcastically, Publishers should focus their war games around WWII, where
the idea of killing and slicing throats of Nazi soldiers is more than welcome to
anyone in the world, excluding me. (although I don't like Nazis, but I do hate
the idea of promoting killing them as if they were aliens and not human
beings.)

Guns are your right and responsibility as it was specifically put there(bill of rights) to give the people power to protect themselves against an unjust government. "Adolf Hitler said in 1933, 'to conquer a nation, one must first disarm its citizens.'
In the frontier days kids were taught responsibility and how to use and respect a gun. These kids didn't go on any killing sprees, and yet we are to believe that removing guns is the answer. Its the parents fault 100%. Instead of parents teaching there kids values they let the TV/babysitter teach/warp there perseption of reality

edit.. by making guns illegal, it only keeps the guns out of the lawful citizens hands. A criminal can and will have a gun if they want it.
