2) It's Christmas, a time for celebration and happiness! (well at least it is for some people).
We don't need to hear about such outrageous tragedies at this time of year (we get to hear about them all year round!), At least allow us some happy time!.

Granted what happened was an outrageous tragedy and SHOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN ALLOWED TO HAPPEN!, this sort of thing has happened numerous times before and nothing ever truly gets done about it!.

I say:
BAN ALL GUNS AND KNIVES!.
Only people with real use for such things should be allowed to use them.

A couple of examples:

Firearms:
Farmers should be allowed to have 1 gun (a riffle or shotgun, only 1 as that's all that's needed) to protect their livestock from wild animals, that would be providing they have a permit and do not have a criminal record for any type of violence.

General public should never be allowed to carry any type of firearm, General public should never be able to store any type of firearm (excluding such things as air guns, they should be covered by different laws).

People that fish should be allowed to use knives providing they have a permit and do not have a criminal record for any type of violence.

I could go on but I'm not going to. LOL

People are generally selfish. On a flight from the US I sat next to a guy who worked for an electronics company that made guidance systems for missiles and engine management systems for cars. Nobody cares if the missile goes off course and hits a school, but if their car doesn't start in the morning then there is hell to pay.

It's not lame, Chicago police is in some high schools right now and not to protect the children.....they are there to protect the staff from the students.

All in all, it's a touchy subject and no one has the perfect fix. Countries, States & Cities have to come up with what works for their specific situation.

I don't condone the death of innocent people in Iraq. That being said, this was 20 children from the ages of 6-10 who died in brutal fashion at the hands of a cowardly terrorist.

I still don't think gun rights should be taken away. When they take them away they are still going to be dumped in the streets to criminals by the government. The same way the government helped crack cocaine find its way to poor black communities. Just like how the gov't gave terrorists guns in the Iran/Contra affair. And just like how they gave drug cartels guns in operation Fast and Furious.

Guns and law abiding citizens aren't the problem. This guy didn't procure them legally. Just because his mother owned them doesn't make it legal for him to tote them around.

your wrong about gun control, look at the UK there is is hardly any gun crime at all. the guy shot that those kids was not a criminal he was just a normal guy and if guns were not available to him then all those kids would not have to die. if the the death of these innocent kids cannot change the view of the Americans and there fascination with guns and violence then they deserve there title as the most violent and barbaric country in the world.
