Hope that helps.

Thanks again.

On the top part of it you'll see shiney metal with a cross shape in it, if this is rounded on the top and not flat then its blown. or if its pushed up loads there will be some brown type black stuff seeping out the top, if so then it needs changing.

If you want to see a picture of what I mean then just put the codes I gave you that may be wrote on it into a search engine and click images it will come up and you can see what im on about.
But if nothings turning on at all its gonna be a 99 % chance its this.
That's quite interesting mate. Something to keep in mind THANK YOU!

you have a slim ps3, if you want to measure for the 5V, then also put the probe on the most right white wire, you can put the balck one on any metal part i think, because most parts are connected to ground.

else put the black probe on the one next to the red probe.

if you think there's a problem with your power/eject board then have it unplugged, and try to start the ps3 with a synced controller , or if your drive is empty, just insert a game, and it should turn on....

...that is, if the power supply is fine.
so i would suggest to first measure for 5V output.

I will try so, and get back to you later about that. If the eject board is faulty. Would the Ps3 start up at all and this could indeed be my problem?

Your problem is the Felpxcable from the POWER/EJECT Buttons board. Remove that Flex cable and examine it carefully! You will see the contacts are ****ed.

you can get a new one cheap on ebay. If the Contacts are only screwed on in the edges, you could cut them and use the cable to turn on and off your ps3 until your new cable comes.

I have repaired my Ps3 like this before. Its not the power supply! It is the cable!

This one:

Can you make a picture of your cable so I can see it ?

PS: My ps3 did not start without the board being plugged in... after i fixed the cable everything was fine again...

are you sure? , don't see why technically it would be different then the fat ps3, i know there's no power button to start it since the board is removed, but putting in a disc or using a synced controller should start the damn machine...lol.

but you can prove me wrong.

I even tried to put a BR inside the drive, still did not help.

I first thought it would be the power supply as well, but since there was no damage done to it i kinda started tearing everything apart and found out my flex cable got damaged when I plugged it in again, I then made a cut at the end of the damaged side of the cable, leaving a small amount of connections, plugged it in and voila, LEDs work, Eject/Power work, Buttons work.. only thing not working now are the LEDs when ps3 is ON, the blue and green one.. As soon as my new cable arrives that should fix the last issue.

Take a ****ing bale mate. You are the man, snipped a bit of the flex cable, which had a bit of the contact missing and what do you know it started up! Sometimes we miss the most simplest solutions. THANK YOU.

Edit: And just to confirm. No this model doesn't start up without the eject button.
