Great considering PSP games get rendered at 960x544 or 1024x580 with 2x MSAA on the PS3, it's a good alternative to PSP or JPCSP on PC.

PS: I have no clue what makes/determines/lead the games get rendered on those resolutions internaly but Final Fantasy Type 0 gets rendered at 1024x580 plus Crisis Core and Naruto Kizuna Drive are on 960x544.

The fats are out of production, but only the old fats have BC. The newer ones, released before the slim, don't have BC.

There are three main types of fat PS3, the first NTSC ones with Emotion Engine & Graphic Synthesiser PS2 chips. Then there were NTSC & PAL models released with just the Graphic Synthesiser. Then finally ones with no PS2 chips at all.

If you have the original discs then you don't need cobra & you can see for yourself what the compatibility is like.

From the compatibility list it doesn't even seem worth the hassle, http://tortuga-cove.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=57&t=530

CechE01 80gb - last model to have BC - my ps3. Bought it the day I heard news of Sony removing BC in the models. Paid 600$ plus additional 150$ for two duelshock 3 controllers >_< yipes LOL

Good job doing your homework by the way :-)

Sorry but I'm one of the rare people above the age 21 on here that don't drink.

Your post that I originally questioned made no sense till you quoted devwiki. Soooo if you wanna have a pissing contest on Christmas let's go. If I understood your original post I would not have qouted you asking what that mess of post ment.

I didn't quote devwiki, I linked to the compatibility list. Which was unrelated to my original post.

The main difference was explaining about the difference between older and newer fat ps3's, and using Emotion Engine instead of EE and Graphic Synthesizer instead of GS. As you then claim to know everything after I expanded on it, I don't really know why you couldn't understand the original post.

To me it looks like you wanted to lol at the post and so purposefully misunderstood it.

Could've stopped the post right there

@Thread : Lovin' the dev. I sometimes ask myself what's stopping them from just releasing it. Is it the asshat scene or is it the unused donation button on whatever page they have?

If this would allow BC PS3 owners to use the recent PS2 Codebreaker widescreen hacks (http://psx-scene.com/forums/f293/ps2...s-only-103096/) then this would be amazing!

Well, it's pretty amazing regardless actually..

Does anyone know if and when Oct0 might release this. Also, is it possible that Cobra may release their 4.xx custom firmware to use on any PS3 without the dongle? I know that sounds very unlikely but as far as i am aware Sony closed the USB exploit with 3.56+ firmwares, so how could this new firmware use the Cobra USB? Also they may now be just relying on the Cobra ODE now for income as i doubt that this new firmware will tempt anyone else to buy the Cobra USB.
