I shaved off more of the clip near the resistors, and I turned on the ps3 to try it out, but it shuts off after about 10 seconds due to overheat protection.

I'm going to take it apart and see if I covered something with Tape? Or the cardboard moved? I dunno it was a new issue. I did'nt get to check if the clip was right due to the overheat so Ill let you know if that ends up working.

Any ideas on the new overheat issues? Heard of this before? When I turn on the ps3 it says it wasnt properly shut down so I have to hit the PS on the controller to hit the ok and it starts the stupid restore thing, but then the overheat issue turns it off.

Well I'm off to double check the stuff.

well shaved off a bunch more, still the same issue. I'm at a lose here. Ill upload more photos around the clip itself.

Question about the pins in the clip, is that the only pins inside? I can take off more, but I don't want to hit anything inside. The overheating issue fixed itself, not sure what that was all about.

Your overheating issue sounds like either you forgot to plug your fan back in or your thermal paste is in dire need of changing.

I would recommend using Artic Silver 5 as it is what I use myself and it keeps my console running cool.

Are you still getting the same error code when trying to dump now?

Yeah same error code, the

start logging...
backup PS3 BIOS.
fail to initialize PS3 BIOS.

I've given up for the night, I have the next couple days off work to really buckle down with it. I ended up stripping a screw, and had to drill it out, so I'm going to replace all the screws with better quality ones. I don't think they were made to be taken out fifty times!

I'm also going to repaste I think you are right on that one.

Would the scotch tape have any interference with anything? I'm going to try the 4 pennies wrapped in a little foam to see if thats better than the cardboard I'm using.

Scotch tape is fine as that is what I have used many times now.

OK update! I got the NOR clip attached properly, after shaving down the clip till nothing was touching it, and adding 4 pennies on top it worked.

So Im to the part in the youtube video where he makes a backup and I got 3 files named
bkpps30
.....31
.....32

All three are the same size 16,777,216

Well the next part on the video is the restore part, Do I need to do this? I heard this is where people usually brick their ps3? From what I read, its because their backup files were not the right size/ corrupt.

verify your dumps mate. Use @baileyscream guide and get a pro to verify your dumps in the dump checking thread.

Looking at the dump verifier gave me a headache!

reading the first tutorial where do I find these files?

What you need:
Your ps3 Bios Backup, extracted via e3 flasher (bkps3.bin) I have these, Is there a reason I have 3?

e3 nor dump checker v1.0 (should be used only as a complement, as it gives false positives)

Flowrebuilder v4.2.2.0
