10k ohms potentiometer
hello fellars i've got an 10k ohms potentiometer from a friend.. i was wondering if i can use this for my ps3 fan mods.. my ps3 fan very load and it's really annoying..

dude if its loud that may be saving it.also i would recommend doing fan mod properly.or you may damage the fan.i had a loud ps3 and no matter how many times i done the thermal paste it would not help.could it be sometimes you need to replace the thermal glue under the heat pads?

Nope they selling silver thermal paste mate.. both white and silver artic silver paste.. btw should i use 10k ohms potentiometer for the fan mods? cheers!!!!

To answer the OPs original question the answer quite simply is NO, you cannot simply use a 10K pot to vary the speed of your fan - it needs too much current which a 10K POT won't allow to pass (and if it is in the small region of variance where it does, 50p says you'll shag your friends potentiometer).
