some people are just addicted to "zombie stuff" and so left for dead is popular for that, however me, im more for the quality gameplay and stuff and i find l4d rather boring, infact i find 90% of games out now boring, games that had quality now lack it and are pushing out a new game just to milk $$$, what has this world come tooo!

I'm not sure of the appeal. For the longest time I didn't have Xbox Live, so I got that for a year and played online. Playing together online, I can say other people suck. There's always a moron or 2 running off far away from others getting downed in areas where you can't get to them in time without getting swarmed a few times or grabbed and then you die with them.

I grabbed all of the DLC, and rarely encounter games where anybody uses any of it. The versus matches rarely seem to be very even matches, either you mercilessly slaughter the other team, or they do it to you, and that can get very frustrating because you are either playing with or against a bulletproof team.

In versus modes there's always that 1 idiot that runs off 5 miles away from the team, gets grabbed, and any attempt to save said idiot is often pointless because the entire other team is almost always in between you and the idiot waiting to lure in suckers to kill and the rest of your team rarely bothers with rescuing anyone ever.

As an infected, it's frustrating how nonstop you can miss every time you attempt to grab players at times, and I've had plenty of moments with hopping nonstop as a hunter of jockey for over a minute and missed every attempt in that crowd of 4 players which is just one of the most stupid things you'll ever see. Might as well not even have damned arms to grab at people you jump at it's so stupid to see. You can't walk through 4 players but you sure can always jump through all of them. Must have been some joke noclip mode I was unaware of while jumping just to spite me and anybody else I've seen try. Good players like finding a place where they can use a jockey to walk somebody over an edge or hitting witches. Good hunters to try to land the 5 mile jump for big damage, or the incredibly rare moment where 2 players are next to each other by the edge of a high place and hopefully you'll bump one player off of the edge and pin the other one.

It's borderline impossible to charge and grab someone with the charger at close range, I don't know what is up with that. Half of the time you'll miss with the charger anyway. Being a jockey or charger feels like suicide. Good players try charging people off of buildings and other places that instantly kill players, or hitting 2 players hopefully knocking 1 off of a high place and killing them.

I've looked at other peoples' methods of how to play great on youtube and have tried applying them, and it helps a bit, but it's a frustrating game to play with others on.

If a boomer comes your way, anybody that sees it will shoot on sight without waiting 2 seconds for you to shove it away so nobody gets vomited on. They won't shove it away either, they'll blow it up in their own faces. Good boomers spawn in peoples faces in a second and get them right then and there, and also blow up next to things that set off alarms.

The easiest way to deal with any team as a player is all 4 of you run as fast as you can without stopping in the same areas and leave them in the dust. They spawn, and can't catch up. Then it takes them forever to spawn far ahead of you, and when they do they are usually easy to kill because you move so fast they have trouble grouping together at the same spot ahead of you so you can usually have the enemy player herd thinned easier.

Some of the mutations that come with The Passing DLC are interesting. You can actually get more trophies because some things are actually now possible, like beating all campaigns on expert. http://left4dead.wikia.com/wiki/Mutations

After months of playing online, I find I hate playing anything with other players and always play offline modes with the bots because they are far more reliable. They don't run 5 miles ahead or stay 5 miles behind, they are always right next to you and ready.

There's too many places for players to fall from. Instead of falling over an edge and just hanging there until you've waited too long and die or another player helps you up, you should be pulling yourself up or just walk over the edge and fall down. It slows the game down and is very annoying. There's areas you can fall and hang on the edge at that some times people manage to fall from and always survive. WTF? Let go of the edge! Some areas you wish you could at least move a few feet to whichever side and maybe land on something that looks survivable.

People use jockeys and smokers to pull or move people over edges. It's a good strategy, but it's very annoying. Good smokers also pick places to grab people that it is much harder for players to shoot at them from.

I do quite well with spitters, especially in scavenge games. Spit on people from far away when they are mobbed by a herd of zombies or grab by other special enemies. Spit on gas cans because it sets them on fire and people need to then go pick them up again. Spit where people dump gas into things because you can't dump gas while being harmed.

Being a tank is random. Tanks always outrun you when it's an AI and you're screwed, but when you are the tank sometimes players can outrun you. I don't know how they do it, but they might as well not even bother making you a tank because it'll take all day for 1 player to kill you or you'll lose being a tank fast. I hate being a tank. Good tanks knock people off buildings and punch cars and things at players to kill them while throwing things from a distance if they can.

I hate a lot about my idea of how people should use their arms in a game. Hunters, jockeys, and chargers might as well not even have arms while trying to catch people, because they very much feel like it. "What? I should us my arms and have them sticking out wide when I jump at 4 people over and over and somehow miss every time even after a minute or 2 has gone by so I'd maybe grab somebody with my arms? You sir are retarded, I jump and try to hit them with my face! I also become a 2 dimensional object when I jump too, so suck on that logic!"

This game is very much dictated by thoughts of how to do gameplay, while stomping on logic. Infected can't save themselves by letting go of players. Players can't climb anything and need to always be saved. Players help others stand back up rather than actually heal them in any way in the process, so why don't they just get up on their own? There's guns everywhere with an unlimited supply of ammunition. Herds of zombies and specials spawn in rooms you just cleared 2 seconds ago. There's a jockey. I repeat, a jockey, a thing that gets on your back and controls where you go. Looking at all of the animations of players while they are grabbed by anything that isn't a charger, how can't they escape? They look very much like they could escape. The smoker's tongue doesn't look like it has the crushing strength of an Anaconda to me. Players just flail their arms while the hunter is on them clawing them, why not use the pistol on its face or punch it? I see it can jump far, but does that really mean a hunter is 300 lbs that nobody can escape? A charger can't grab a player, run around, or throw that player? Why aren't zombies drawn to the spot where a boomer explodes? There's still boomer puke and bile everywhere. Why are there recharge times for dumb things like me missing a charge yet not hitting a wall? Tanks are nothing but a giant muscle yet they need to punch the crap out of you or just knock a garbage dumpster at you? That thing hits you very far and high in the air many times, how is the dumpster causing the most damage? With muscle to easily punch multiple vehicles out of the way and knock them sky high, why can't he jump high and far with those fists? How does he keep pulling cement blocks out of wooden floors and never put a hole in the ground or fall through a floor? The questions never end.

I've stopped playing mostly. Unless they decide to give people the ability to make and play their own maps or create their own mutations like people on the PC, I'm done with the game, and any other after it. People that make games for PCs and consoles are ruining their console versions by not allowing people to do the same stuff. Some games have hundreds or even thousands of other maps and mods, yet I'm stuck with 5 maps on 1 mode? I buy very little console games these days unless the game can be hacked, and being modded is a big bonus. I remember when Bethesda wanted to allow console owners to be able to have all of the same modding fun as PC users for Skyrim and how much I would have loved for them to open that window for Sony and Xbox 360. They had the sticks up their butts, and thanks to the console being hacked people can still use mods. They'll keep losing people and I hope they eventually die and a new wave of console makers without the sticks up their butts decides to stop castrating every game they can pops up and replaces these lead headed fossils.

I care a whole lot about graphics but performance can sometimes make up for it. I care about performance and optimization the most. If a game does not run at 60FPS at all times on my PC then there's no point for me to play it. I was thinking of getting LA Noire because I heard it was a good game but found out it ran at 30FPS and didn't look back.

Maybe because i have all settings maxed on all my games or my cooling system on my pc isnt up to par but I find it rare to run a modern game @ a consistent frame rate (+ other issues like optimization). Even with some older games if i get 120fps i will sometimes experience framedips even with vsync turned on. 30fps isnt so bad, if you can get a game to run @ 30 w/o droping below 20 then its still playable... (2 me anyways) Your missing out on great game with L.A. Noire

I love left 4 dead, the sense of being seemingly in control of proceedings and then being overwhelmed within seconds and the only thing that will save you is good teamwork, something that we are seriously lacking in multiplayer games at the present time, and without co-ordination there is no point in trying.

The pc version has some awesome mods and campaigns too, having said that I can understand why someone would not understand the game as there is no storyline as such, but the point and purpose I believe is there for all to see and I honestly haven't laughed so much playing a game as I did with this.

Bring on left 4 Dead 3...
