so i went from kmeaw 3.55 to rogero 4,3 v2.03 everything workt great.
so now my hard drive broke down of the ps3. after i booted it it said that something was damaged and needed repair. but it kept getting stuck. so i tried it in recovery mode no results either.

now i bought a new hardrive. put it in the playstation. but is says i need to an higher software version on my usb stick(4.3 at least) i tried with rogero...

so my question somebody had the same problem? or knows how to fix this?

are you sure you are using the same pup in the usb stick that your ps3 is already on??

yes i was on rogero. and i downloaded the same rogero pup file again and put it on the usb stick. but it says it cant find a pup file on the usb with a higher software version than 4,3 i named it UPDAT.PUP.

you need to rename it to PS3UPDAT.PUP

- Download the Downgrader PUP ---> Downgrader PUP mirror ---> Downgrader PUP Size 176MB (184,595,263 bytes) MD5: 49d80e07fc1f5ca1b0840e02e94635db - Rename the downloaded file to "PS3UPDAT.PUP" and put it on your USB in: "USB\PS3\UPDATE\PS3UPDAT.PUP" - Swap the current HDD with the New HDD, Turn the PS3 on, follow screen instructions and let it install the Downgrader CFW. - After the Downgrader CFW installs you'll be on a hybrid CFW3.55 that will still shows ver4.21 from system settings. - Enable QA flag by following these steps: 1- Download the Rebug QA_Toggle package from here ---> toggle_qa.pkg 2- Put the "toggle_qa.pkg" on USB and Install it on the PS3. 3- Run the "Rebug Toggle QA" from XMB, the screen will go Black and you will see HDD Led activity then if all went fine you will hear 2 or 3 Beeps and the PS3 will Restart back to XMB. 4- If you want to make sure QA flag was set, go to "Network Settings" then apply the following key combo (all at the same time):

then surely the pup does not match your installed firmware. It is the only thing I can think of. Rogero 4.3 has lots of different versions. seriously are you sure the pup you are using is v2.03 and your system has 2.03 installed on it

This didn't happen to be a hard drive you had mounted externally connected to the header for the internal drive did it?

There is a problem with all 4.x firmware with external 3.5 inch drives...I made a thread on it if you do a search

nope baargle its the internal one but thx! i really thought that mr.dutch found it and i sounded like it needed to work, but it did noTTT. it cant find anny updates above 4.3 on the stick and donkey-punch im sure...

really sucks... but you guys are a great help!

Is it possible for you to try the downgrader pup in factory service mode?
