Needs to be PS3/UPDATE, I doubt it works with lowercase letters.

i didnt use lowercase letters on the usb. so im now at
- After the Downgrader CFW installs you'll be on a hybrid CFW3.55 that will still shows ver4.21 from system settings.

this is what i have now. but the next step is.

- Now put "Rogero CEX-3.55 CFW V3.7" on your USB in: "USB\PS3\UPDATE\PS3UPDAT.PUP" ---> Rogero CEX-3.55 CFW V3.7.PUP
- Start the PS3 into Recovery Menu and install "Rogero CEX-3.55 CFW V3.7" (from Recovery Menu, this is important)
- Once you're back on Rogero CFW3.55 v3.7 Start the PS3 into Recovery Menu and install any CFW 3.55/4.21/4.30.

but this doenst work now im in recovery mode and it says i need to put in an usb with software version 4.4 or higher but i have rogero cex-3.55 on it...

(but when i first came on the hybrid version i used the rong usb it containt rogero 4.3 but whille updating it gave a damage error and brought me back to xmb. so then i formatted my ps3 again in recovery mode. and used the right usb)

somebody still got an idea i can try?

the 4.4 is a spoof firmware it will still install 3.55fw

as you have just downgraded you need to de-hash though so do that

then put rogero3.55 back on then rogero 4.30v2 (both done in recovery only)

i know 4.4 should be a spoof version but when i put in the stick with rogero 3.55 it cant detect the update.

sorry for the noob question but what is de-hash?

this is what google says:

What Dehashing basically does is it resets the PS3′s Syscon hashes back to 3.55 with both “ros0” and “ros1”, making your PS3 back into an original/non-downgraded state and you do not need to worry about disabling LV1 checks when you install any CEX/DEX or the latest PS3 Official Firmware.

1. Download QA Toggle pkg
2. Copy the file to the root of your USB or external HD
3. Insert your USB/External HD to your PS3
4. On your PS3, go to “Install package Files” and install the QA Toggle PKG
5. Once installed, run the “Rebug Toggle QA” on your PS3, (The screen will go Black and you will hear 2 or 3 Beeps and when finished it will go back to the PS3′s XMB, and if error comes up, just repeat this step.)
6. Go to “Network Settings” (do not open it) then all at the same time, press the following key combo : L1 + L2 + L3 (press left stick) + R1 + R2 + dpad_down (its hard you might want to get an extra hand for this)
7. If the QA Flag was done correctly, you will see Edy Viewer, Debug Settings, and Install Package Files.

Now you have a Dehashed PS3 and the next step is to go to recovery mode.

use this from one of my guides:-
Needed Downloads
Needed Downloads

download ProgSkeet NOR programs.rar from HERE and put it into My Documents

then follow this:
QA flag method

Install and run QA-toggle and make sure it beeps
if you just get a blank screen and nothing happens then you have a faulty bdvd and you cannot do this step. try re-marry bdvd found in the main post then try this step again.

to check you are QA flagged Set your cursor on Network Settings and press the key combo (all at the same time):L1 + L2 + L3 (press left stick) + R1 + R2 + dpad_down
if you are QA flagged a new option will show up right below network settings

Power off console
Put unpatched official firmware (e.g. 3.55) on USB Mass Storage device as /PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP and insert in PS3

Boot into Recovery Menu:
press and hold power button you get 1 beep then a wait then a second beep then the ps3 turns off
press and hold power button again you get 1 beep then 2 beeps let go of power button
select "6. System Update" to reinstall firmware.
If installation finishes without error (there will be no logs you can check!) and boots XMB OK, then dehashing was successful.
Congrats, you now finished downgrading and dehashing. Console runs 3.55 and any firmware of choice can be installed, no longer needing to be patched for downgrader.

sorry for the noob question but what is de-hash?
now your on 3.55ofw
install rogero3.55
once done install rogero4.30v2
