Read deroads Twitter as well as opium2k's and CondorStrikes....

I was open-source along time ago. Also at that time there was 100 MM clones and people begged him to make it closed source after that all the clones died out. But that was before his EGO got super big. Now i like MM the app cause its a one stop shop. I do how ever think dean needs to wait a little bit before adding other peoples stuff to his work and not the next day.

This is where the problem lies, if you are 'ANGRY' then you are showing an emotional involvement with MultiMan or Deank, these comments should be water off a ducks back and you and others should just accept people sometimes say silly things and not everybody agrees on everything.

I appreciate the fact I can use a manager that's the quality of multiman, I have no reason to have any bad feeling towards the man or the manager and if somebody wishes to vent their frustrations at either I let them get on with it.

Just smile and carry on...

Sorry G.R. Im not an investigative journalist and pretty much only come here for everything ps3 related. If @deroad is indeed dissin on deanK via twitter I will assume its for good reason and infact deanK did add the application without permission.

You don't need to be an investigative journalist, to open your eyes, there are those of us, who keep our eyes open all the time, then there are those that choose to keep their eyes closed, that choose not to care, that choose to accept, im one of those that have my eyes open and see all.

EDIT
I never said @deroad was dissin anyone, i said look at his twitter to see if deank ripped him off or not, im guessing though that even if deroad posted that on this thread, you would still choose to believe deank over him.

not trying to add to the drama or anything but here's deank's response to the stealing accusations:

"I remember you and opium2k talking to me about downloading themes and other things from brewology back then, but mM was unable to download files with unknown content-length. Now it can so I gave it a try. Also mM doesn't allow simultaneous downloads - only one at a time. All mM clients read the 'database' from my server so I can easily switch to my own content or another provider.

I'm sorry that this caused such troubles.

There is nothing ripped from deroad's application. The implementation in mm has nothing to do with the homebrew he created. Anyway... I just switched to my own content.

It took me less than an hour and exactly 20 lines of code in mM to add this [brew] feature in the Web column so I don't really care if it will be used or not. It's not like I spent a year or something. The web column can be fed by RSS feeds (or any other kind of data) from different sources so I'll look around what can be useful and helpful."

there was a reason to not release the real code, but only a 'blanked' one. avoid the server abusing. the admin asked me to not make API opensource, so i simply build a semi-closed source that i released, on on the git (the blanked code) and the build.

deank without my permission reversed and released a version that uses brewology api, and the admin was just a little mad with me. i was pissed off with deank for the idiot thing that he has done, and now we are trying to fix the problem.

i don't care about being ripped, (my code is opensource for a reason). i'm pissed off because he reversed something without my permission. that's completely different. i do not ask money and the brewology admin too, so why make lose some money for an idiot that the only thing that have is an enormous ego? some time people should think before doing some stuff. he could ask to the admin to use the api too, it was simple. but no, he needed to reversed my stuff like leechers do.

ps:
i didn't slept tonight for this bad joke :S

i leave you with the brewology admin words:

Hi. I run the server and wrote all the code for the store and API that PSChannel and now multiMan uses.

Funny enough I've been messaging DeanK to use Brewology Store for like 2 years... haha . Wargio is upset because I set requirements for him, including making sure the API is obfuscated to prevent abuse. He didn't do this as he was rushed to get the product out to you all... so when I woke up and saw a bunch of unauthorized clients saturating the upload link I gave him a "WTF" via email.

AldosTools asked me for permission (on behalf of DeanK) via PM last night but the latest version of multiMan was released before I could respond. So I spent most of the morning fire fighting the server issues before I even knew that multiMan was responsible for it.

I am excited the API and Brewology store want to be used... but let me explain why this has been an issue.
- I break even or lose money on Brewology depending on the month (thats why you aren't bombarded with ads on the site). So when all of a sudden I am doing 10x the usual data traffic in a way thats not prepared for thats basically money straight out of my pocket. Also to be clear there was a small bump to traffic to Brewology.com but not enough to site traffic to supplement the bandwidth / server cost associated with making the current implementation work.
- multiMan appears to allow the same user to async download multiple files at once. This means it seems that I had individuals trying to download 20-30+ files at once... this not only fills up my uplink but loads the server with many people doing this at once.
- As this site has been going since 2005 (under pspbrew.com) I have had to over the years add a lot of abuse protection to keep things going. multiMan quickly tripped these triggers so if you haven't noticed downloads probably don't work. This is now more time I need to spend manually resetting these protections so that I dont lose old abuse data.

There is more issues but long story short my holiday day with my family was lost. I appreciate moving the scene forward but as we all say developers aren't slaves to the masses and should be appreciated. That said you would probably never have gotten this support without Wargio as he spearheaded the first PS3 homebrew to use Brewology... so please give him the respect he also deserves.

P.S - I am still trying to fix the issues. I fear that I may have to keep the API abuse blocks in place until I can get hold of DeanK to make some changes so the servers dont go down.

You don't need need to update. I update only to 4.17.3 cause it is faster. From now one I won't update untill the PS2 is arrived or after a month.

The bold part of your quote was unnecessary. Ive never given you any reason to think me such a supporter of DeanK that I would turn a blind eye to the obvious. You respond as though you believe me to have some emotional attachment to MM or DeanK. To be frank, I couldnt care less about his and @deroad s tiff with one another over an application that was implemented (supposedly by reverse engineering) into MM. Honestly, it matters not to me other than to show or not show DeanK's integrity which is only of minimal interest to me.

I use MM and as such I from time to time thank those responsible for its creation.

Thats pretty much it.

All the rest of the drama is drama others bring to the thread.
