Hello. I was wondering if I need to make E3 flasher backwards compatible.


I heard you can just plug and play that correct? (I don't have a sodder gun so I really REALLY don't want to go buy one if no need. )

Also I heard you can't upgrade past 3.55CFW after you downgrade. (I have a CHECH-2500b1 and first mod lmao)

I know my PS3 is hackable and I have the tools to open(I am purchasing an E3 flasher limited from Pug) And I've researched almost 100 times how to open and install the flasher(Downgrader). I have only seen on this guide you have to sodder.


PS: with minfirmware checker I get 3.40. So I would assume It's a Jtp 001

Hi there..

I did everything acording to this e3 tut But im stuck in service mode.
Everything in e3flasher.log is OK.
But im getting 8002F157 error

Anyone out there who might know how to fix that part??

Are you on 3.56?

That error is:

?corrupt? 	0x8002F157 	firmware related error / HDD Exchange error - 3.56-1st BUG

I was on 4,25 and now i cant get passed recovery..
What fw do i need to upgrade with??

Make sure your HDD is connected, disconnect your blu ray drive. Then use Rogero named to PS3UPDAT.PUP and Lv2diag.self on fat32 formatted usb drive.

The E3 is designed to work with any compatible Slims that can be downgraded. If your PS3 cannot be downgraded, then there is simply nothing to do with the E3 itself.

Haha. If you are thinking that using a clip is "just plug and play", that is a false economy. You should research all the typical clip problems, and possible workarounds / fixes before ordering one. Because the price of a clip is far more expensive than any cheap soldering Iron (regardless whether you buy it included with the E3, or seperately).

Actually the very best, and foolproof workaround for clip problems is to ditch your clip entirely and just use the soldering iron instead. Tried and tested.

No, you can. Those high CFW are re-signed with the 3.55 private keys. I think you meant to say 3.55 OFW there.

Ahem, yes you are supposed to solder the tristate. So perhaps you have to buy a soldering iron in the end and cannot avoid that. You are recommended to solder everything and NOT to use a clip, unless:

The clip is of the highest quality, and seats well onto your particular NOR. The case dimensions of the NOR package may vary slightly between manufacturers. There is no way to tell if the clip is okay before buying it without borrowing someone else's clip and opening up your PS3. Even then, clips may vary even from the same manufacturer. Actually if you go back and read this thread, it has a back-story which is just and endless discussion about clip problems, clip frustration, and clip failures.

You also say you have researched many times. But its very clear from your questions that you haven't yet understood fully all of the downgrading process. Most information is on Ps3DevWiki. There is also #ps3downgrade IRC channel (but have to be logged on to EFNet IRC server). There is also a Japanese PS3 dev Wiki somewhere.

I have a JTP-001 also. But not an E3. Got a Teensy 2.00++ from PJRC because it's only $24 dollars.

oke thanks for helping me around now i now that i have to solder i dont can do that but my dad can solder only my dad dont no were he most solder do anyone have a foto or samthing so my dad now how to solder the good way anywhy already thanks for the help
