Now seriously - PS3DevWiki (that website) is where everybody else goes to find photos for where the Tristate is. And I just included a link to PS3DevWiki in the previous post. YOUR DAD can also find useful and relevant tips for soldering with the supplied YouTube video link. Again its all been written down above ^^, just there, in previous post directly above your own forum post. Jesus Christ pal. ************* [ - Post Merged - ] ************* 1) if you can power the NOR/NAND chip with an alternate (and isolated) voltage source than the PS3 itself, then you can reflash it without the mobo being powered on by the PS3's PSU. Then the South Bridge chip may be unpowered (sorry, don't really know for sure) and hence high-impedance mode. Then no need for the tristate wire. 2) If you have the PS3 switch on, but in some kind of YLOD mode, or frozen/crashed etc in a way that the South Bridge Chip happens to be locked into high-impedence mode. Neither of those 2 scenarios is any more convenient or safe way compared to just simply soldering the 1 tristate wire. Having full control over the NOR is important during the flashing / downgrading proceedure. If you could just accept that it is easier, and safer to properly disable the south bridge in the accepted fashion. That might save you some grief later on. After all, most people don't particularly want to risk getting bad dumps / bricking their PS3 after going to all that effort doing everything else (many other steps) that is required. new product added under the spoiler's
"Wrong you need these tools before you even think about following a guide" and then under spoiler "1. a NAND or NOR Programmer" 1d. FFC NAND Interface board
![]() for the experts in soldering there is a new product out that allows you to flash the NAND off board this means you remove each NAND one at a time solder each in turn to the new board then you can read and write much easer than if it was on board it replaces the need to buy the above 1a / 1b /1c items

everybody nock it off my first post says this is a child friendly thread if it continues i will go through all the replies and regardless if your friend or foe i will report every single post i feel is insulting to another user. if it still carries on after that i will ask for this thread to be closed preventing any more insults and any more help to be given. sometimes i wish i was a mod

1) Copy-paste your posts into a spellchecker beforehand. And don't be in any kind of a hurry to submit posts. 2) Edit your posts afterwards if you made any obvious mistakes in them and can see how you should to correct it. 3) You didn't say whether you soldered the Tri-State. 4) You can now re-compare (byte-by-byte) the programmed NOR to check if it's the same as what you wrote. You didn't say if you had done that. Perhaps it's too difficult for you to figure out. Then you shouldn't be downgrading your PS3 in the first place IMHO. But what the heck do I know eh? 5) If it is the same, then you can get someone else (god-willing) to verify that your original dump is valid. You didn't say if you had done that, or what (they) said - ie comments about your dump, how it was verified etc. So how come you are so sure it IS a valid dump? Your PS3 is still does not work working for one of about only 2-3 reasons: 1) You cannot / did not operate the E3 properly. But the E3 is working correctly. So something went wrong there or you have not finished yet. Personally I can't help you sorry because I don't have an E3 flasher. 2) You can / did operate the E3 properly. But you have an invalid dump. Which can be eliminated by going back and carefully verifying your dump. If yes, then your PS3 is bricked forever. Honestly that is probably the best outcome for you because in the long run it will help you to go get yourself a better education FIRST before spending so much time playing video games, etc. i'm sure you have heard it all before and don't really need to go on about that. 3) You can / did operate the E3 correctly. But you may either have a setup issue with your E3, or your E3 may be faulty. And it is too hard for others to understand clearly enough what is happening now since your explanations... well we have already explained that they don't meet basic standards of English. Perhaps it is better to just come to terms right now with the fact that you have probably irrecoverably broke your PS3. Too much so to be able to fix it, and that it was nobody's fault. Downgrading is a difficult process and there is no guarantees that it will work. Then you can move on with new chapters in your life and just forget about the problems associated with it. Trust me/us: This (having a working PS3) is not nearly as important than learning to read & write properly, and getting that to a standard which is to the best of your ability. Having a PS3 is just taking up your precious time and standing in the way of that. Every cloud has a silver lining. Every failure has a success after it. It is something you at least begin appreciate today. In later life you cannot go-back and re-learn this. There will be many more years ahead where you will be thankful for good reading/writing skills. There are many advantages which are brought about by that, and those benefits won't be aparrent until you get there. So just trust us. Even today, if I could go back to improve my own writing just a little better, I would do it in a heartbeat. |
