depends what your expectations are.
i recently went thru the same dilemma. if you really want to install CFW, you'll wanna hold out until you can find a decent 200x Slim which is hackable. ideally if youre lucky enough to find one with OFW 3.55 or lower(unlikely) or if it has 3.56 OFW or higher it will require a h/w downgrade (not recommended for technically challanged) if this sounds out of your league, dont worry about hacking and go wit a 3xxx Slim model. the new 4000 Super Slims are built a little cheaper IMHO. personally hate the sliding disk tray.... what the hell were they thinking?!?

Here's a tip for those of us who are in the US. Radioshack seems to move their consoles slower than all the other stores. Because of this I have been able to find (in several in my area) PS3 slim's CECH-2501A's that are 3.40 in their firmware (I've bought two and both are 3.40). If you want a JB'able console look for those as they are the best bet at the moment.

Some CECH-2000 Slims had the PSU issue but they got rid of that before the CECH-2100 release. CECH-2100, CECH-2500 and CECH-3000 are the most reliable models out here, they get issues extremely rarely. As for the Super Slim, I don't know. I'm worried about the RSX's position and its cooling. I'd go for a regular Slim if I had to choose. If it ain't broken, don't fix it.
