have you checked the e3 website to make sure you have a genuine flasher? Their are some fakes on the market.

Yes it's an original looking at there pictures. I may try an find a downgrade service as for now I should probably just cut my loses if 900th odd time you don't succeed! Give up!

this is still strange!

check your circuit cable from the clip till the connector, maybe its broken? applied too much pressure on it?

This is my last guess.

Thanks anyway and everyone else for help. Cable is fine I have two e3 cables both seem to be struggling with it! Nevermind

I still can't get it to read but with the backup third switch and fifth switch up it writes something to memory card don't understand what that does tho?

With 3rd switch up and the 5th switch up, you are taking a dump of the nor chip on the e3 flasher.
3rd switch up = backup
5th switch up = OB Flash
