Downgrading from 3.66 to 3.55 - PS3Hax Network

Ok so i have one of those old fat ps3's that i bought back in 07(i think). It got the YLOD like 2 summers ago and i haven't used it since, because i got a new slimmer one. So i had given it to my uncle to fix and we spent 2 hours yesterday opening it up and fixing it and it finally worked!

The whole reason i got it fixed in the first place is so that i could have 1 ps3 that is modded and can play free games. And another PS3 that i can use to play online.

The problem is that my ps3 is version 3.66 and i heard that you need it to be 3.55 to be able to mod it. I would really appreciate it if anyone could tell me how to downgrade it or mod it at the current version. As you can probably tell, i'm a complete noob to this stuff

I did read them but most of them are telling me to hardware downgrade it and i don't have the tools nor the knowledge to do so. Is there any simple way to downgrade it? or is there a higher version that you can mod or is 3.55 the only version you can mod it on?

3.55 is the only way unfortunately, no soft downgrade so it has to be a flasher.

What do you think this is? The wii scene? There is no software downgrade for the ps3 above 3.55
You will need to buy a progskeet flasher to flash it for a downgrade. And a PS3Key Jig/Dongle
Or you can send it to someone to do it for you.

Season of good will and all that, but why do people ask questions when they refuse to believe the information they have already read? lol

If there was a simple way there would be NO need for hardware flashers now would they?

Crap, well thanks for the help anyway. No wonder i don't hear of many people modding their ps3's. This stuff is a pain in the ass. I'd be surprised if even 5% of ps3 users had the skills and tools necessary to hardware downgrade a ps3. And i bet rarely anyone has their ps3 at version 3.55 anymore. I guess i'll have to wait for a software downgrade if there will ever be one
