When you say you changed the BR board I'm assuming you kept the original board with the affected playstation??? So no you will not need to remarry the logic board. The next thing to check would be your ribbon cables and the respective clips. If you have had your console apart make sure all cables are located in the correct way. Also make sure your cables are looking healthy. check the ends and make sure there are no marks of wear and tear.

lol at "If you have had your console apart"

and downgraded consoles can loose bdvd drive functions and the multiman fix can cure this.

i have had 1 slim (my sons) that has the origional bdvd drive but has a prob with the bdvd firmware. everytime i put a new update on it i have to swap drive boards or it loops at 45%. then re-marry it after for to get full functions back.

really weird problem

sorry I should have said" saying" as you have had your console apart. Lazy typing I suppose, or was it lazy translation by you?? Has your sons slim been downgraded? Maybe that causes the problem, we don't even know whether this console has been downgraded!!

lol put it down to being so late at night lol

no not downgraded it started when it was being updated to 3.55 when 3.55 first came out (ofw not cfw)

and yea it might not be downgraded thats why i gave my sons as an example that it could be down to another unforseen reason and that the multiman fix should get it working again

btw happy new year n night. i'm def going to bed now

what you could do yourself is checking this thermal resistor, TH3301
the picture is from a 60GB ps3.
