If purchasing something like conkers bad fur day is around £50 on eBay preowned, everdrive etc doesn't seem such a bad deal anymore (providing its a well made product of course).

Never heard of a everdrive64. Quick Google search led me to find them and they are expensive. Seems one could build one if they had the schematics.

We have two n64's, well, I should say I bought two on ebay for my daughter, but the controllers are garbage as the analog sticks just flop around. I have considered opening and trying to fix, but doubt it would be easy.

Has'nt this been try'd with pslight before ? I remember a while back on ps3hacks website there was a repituble dev working on a N64 emu and nothing become of it then, also wasnt there one annouced on this site a few year's ago ? Team Emulatemii 25.09.2011 ,still think it wont happen, or if it does it'll be linux based only. Im not getting excited, ive been let down before, but we shall see....

Think of Dynarec as part of graphics acceleration, the reason people gave up was they couldn't push it past to a playable fps, with dynarec implemented it's emulation on steroids, this will get the ball rolling, whether someone wants to grab that ball and make a move is a different story.
