hi i downgraded me ps3 last night it all went fine till the end bit where you have to plug in the ps3 pad and the ps button i selected the language then it comes up with the bit where you select if there you are using an hdmi lead i press yes nothing happens for 30 secs then goes back the the start like it has not recognized the hdmi but if i use the av lead it all works fine iv tried using a different tv and a different hdmi lead and it still dose not work and help will be appreciated

Try resetting the video settings, I think you turn the console off then hold the power button till it beeps a few times.

it will always come back after 30sec to the previous setting, if you don't press the X button.

a stupid question, did you switched your tv to the right hdmi port to check if you had output during these 30 sec. ?

yes when i use just the hdmi lead the screen comes on tells me to press the ps button then i select the language then it say that an hdmi lead has been detected would you like to use it i click yes than the screen goes black for 30 secs then goes back to the start it works with the hdmi but when it trys to switch to 1080i but it does not show but with the av it all works fine

it looks like your problem is the same as this guy, also a recent thread.

omg do you google translater or why arent you doing what @Mr.Dutch says?

when you hit yes switch to HDMI you have to set your TV to hdmi, too!
do you have both cables (hdmi/scart) plugged in?
if yes your a dumb and you are not allowed to use technical things like a PS or a TV

@Ontopic Try and reflash the ps3 again? Maybe it is software related ? Or just reflash your dump. This is a weird issue and seems like its happening more often now.
