hi all, I have a ps3 fat 40gb with rebug 3.55.3 and I want restore ofw 3.55, my question is how can I proceed? I have read that on rebug 3.55.3 before restore ofw 3.55 I must first enable check-on lv1 on qa toggle, or I can simply install ofw 3.55 in recovery mode? I want avoid the problem of brick please.

Why not just toggle QA for the sake of it?? You probably will be good to go but once you QA toggle it remains and it is not a bad thing having your console QA toggled. Can I ask why you are gonna flash 3.55 ofw??

I want play online without the risk of ban, please how can I proceed? I can simply go to recovery mode and install ofw 3.55 or enable check on on qa toggle menu before?

Seriously you care more for psn than homebrew? I am the other way round but I do have a few close friends I like to play online with as we are further apart now from when growing up, but I have a slim on ofw for them purposes. If I were you I'd consider buying a 2nd hand console or a super cheap super slim for online gaming and keep your console on cfw just the way it is. But if you are going to go ofw on your cfw console their is a good thread started by @Annelies on how to unhack your console.

go into service mode format the hdd then install 3.55 ofw. then upgrade to latest ofw via internet or local storage like a usb thumb drive. i for one can understand the desire to be online. i mean whats the point in owning a cod game if you cant get online with it. not sure about u all but i dont buy cod for its engaging storyline lol.

He could get himself a ban though! Or $ony could change the pasphrase again and he will be back to square 1. I personally believe if you wabt the best of both< then you are better off having to consoles or dual booting. (2 consoles is less technical though).

Getting the Paraphrase is easier now. Ban is unlikly Unless he is blatently cheating/Hacking Or constantly running Un-stealthed MM/Homebrew.

Bans are more likely now. One of my consoles was banned. And I am against cheating, I have never cheated. I believe it had something to do with playing Black Ops 2 online. Because my friend has his console banned also. And he doesn't even know how to cheat.

But you can get right back online, with PS Unban v0.1.
Funny, even my DLC works still, after using it. LOL.

If you want to go legit, just install OFW 3.55 from recovery. Don't toggle Qa flag, you don't want to be on OFW 4.31 and no way to toggle it off.
Format your HDD, with option 5 in recovery menu. And install the latest OFW.
