We could do with a high res pic of your nor chip without the clip on. If the wikki was up I could give you an example of damaged nor pins.

Try and get high res pics mate nice and close with no flash. (the flash just shines on the pcb and makes it difficult to see what you are looking for). They may not appear damaged to you but you could have splayed even just 1 pin. Fact is it worked before you attatched the clip and now it doesn't.

any problems you had before you downgraded.

we need more info in that first post also copy your pics there.

its a pain telling ppl to try this and that then finding out you have had this or that prob in the past or you have done this or that mod to the console after we give advice.

move your cam a bit further away from the board as the cam is struggling to focus on it.

don't know what your idea of a fan mod is, but in my believe's it's a piece of electronic to control the fan's speed.
i think he broke off his connector and it's soldered back on.

@MoREL , what is the condition of the ps3 now, since you say it won't turn on.

the cable from mainboard to power/eject board is not damaged?, i have heard reports of console's that would look dead because of damaged cable.
also if you have a multimeter you could check if the psu outputs 5V.
