what sort of files are you trying to play, it's not that you need cfw to play movies on the ps3.

You cannot mod any machine with OFW 4.21 on it.

You cannot instal linux.

You will just have to convert your movies using something that defeats cinavia like DVDFAB, and play them off your video column on XMB.

What would be the best video file and audio file to use. Im just have a play round at the moment.

If I convert my files I convert to MP4 720p with acc/ac3 audio 448khz (iirc) they all play from XMB no problem.

MP4box + eactoaac or dtstoac3

why don't you just try a movie, and let it play for a while to see if a cinavia message will pop up.

converting a movie won't help you, it will also copy the protection, unless the audio track is DTS.
