personaly i would do the cfw one.
id get a good dump as it is right now.
then if anything goes wrong you can flash back to the 3.55cfw backup.

then update this one to rogero 4.30v2cfw and practice your downgrade (i say do rogero 4.30v2 cos if anything goes wrong with the flasher you wont end up with 2 ofw consoles

My clip just came and I'm gonna get it all sanded down ready for when the wife and kids are out and about tomorrow. So my console is already on rogero 2.03 and has been for some time now. Are you saying get a dump now while it is on rogero and do a hardware downgrade from rogero then one key downgrade and then finish in fsm?

After flashing successfully CECHK03 now I am in following screen.



I am trying to FSM mode via a PSP with PS3jig. I have downgraded five consoles with this. but I can't get into FSM anyway. Is it possible that this console's lowest firmware is not 3.55?

noo a cechk03 will be an 80 gig phat i should imagine. Didn't you do the minver check just to make sure though. What firmware is on the psp. I know a member here had to drop from 5.50 gen D full to gen D3 and solved exact same problem as you are having
