well it not just the games the controls are like $54.00 new and official.
When you said this I thought that I'd overlooked that included more than 2 Dualshock 3 controllers or something...

It comes with ONE SIXAXIS, yes a 4 year old controller, and a PS2 controller - which you can pick up for next to nothing.

When you buy a 2nd hand games console you still expect the controllers to be included...

Sheesh...you're crazy!

I despair.

In any case the main indisputable problem is that fat consoles are dying left right and centre. There's very few left that haven't had YLOD and haven't been fixed temporarily.

We'd all like a BC PS3, me as much as the next person, in the end after research it became blatantly clear that it just isn't an option, not because of money (I'm bloody loaded with cash, own 2 houses and have a few hundred thousand £ invested in a few suckers paying me 9% interest), so how about that for an e-penis. Not why I'm saying it though, still stupid to waste money on a dead horse. Point is - That they are dying, end of story.

In the end went for an old fat PS2 with hard drive route for my JRPG PS2 fanaticism. It's not pretty and it's a bit of a mess but I made that choice with some thinking and consideration, and came to the understanding that it's just not possible to have what you want in this case.

You cannot safely get a PS3 with BC support that you can have any confidence isn't going to stop working the next time you play it, it's that bad.

2 years ago, there weren't that many reports, now most people who know what their on about won't touch a BC console, or any fat PS3 for that matter...

Remember how much pawn shops used to give for a fat PS3, it was ridiculous, nowadays they don't even want to touch them, that speaks volumes to me and it should do you too.

Just updated the firmware version info on post. Sorry for the delay. The firmware or system software is currently at version 4.00.

Any particular reason why the value would be more if the version is below 3.55?

yeah, it would be jailbreakable via software. Now, it is either a retail console, or you will have to downgrade it which takes a hardware flasher and knowledge/money. Being it is retail, it isnt worth half what it would be worth if it was on 3.55 or lower. that and the fact that it is a power sucking, overheating old model, that is almost certain to die....question is when?

Because with firmware above 3.55, if you want to have HOMEBREW, play game backups e.t.c, you now need a hardware flasher to get back to 3.55.

And TBH and as stated above there just not worth having if your going to use OFW, ylod would be on the horizon just a matter of time.

personally if i bought it, i would get it reballed with leaded solder, and get it watercooled.

Thanks for the informative input everyone, much appreciated. I guess I'll try my luck and see what happens. Cheers!

BTW: How much do you think I can sell the guitar controllers for? For 1 guitar, the guitar/game bundle, and/or all?

I only used it a few times (definitely no more than 10). I've attached some photos, thanks!
