i would remove the E3 (unplug the linker from it) and put the hdd into the ps3 and see if it boots

this way the E3 can be ruled out

Well, that seems to have fixed it. I can boot right into Rogero (getting the Rogero icon as it goes into XMB. Did I install dual boot? How do I go about getting the esata station to work with the PS3 again? By the way, can't thank you enough for the help!!

hi again so i manage to solder that wire from my ps3 to my e3 flasher and the ps3 now stays on thanks i fort i ****ed it lol just one more thing in the e3 flasher folder i downloaded in the De-hashing folder the is 2 3,55 pup can i use any of them one is on its own and one is set up in the folders (PS3/UPDAT/PS3UPDAT.PUP

its going to be 1 off 4 possibilities ( i hope)

1. the E3 came loose from the hdd's sata inside the hdd slot
fix by simply plugging back in and trying again

2. the E3 is shorting on the hdd cage it came supplied with
fix by removing the E3 and sit it on the top sponge inside the E3 box and cut the sponge the same size as the E3 board. then put this sponge into the hdd cage THEN sit the E3 in the cage then screw the E3 back in (the sponge is "sandwiched" between board and cage)

3. the connector on the E3 to the linker came loose
fix by clipping the linker onto the E3 and taping it down (or apply preasure with a clamp then hot glue the linker down)

4. the wires are shorting on the ps3's main board somewhere probbably where the wires are soldered to the teat points.
fix by either cutting the bottom shild around this area. then file the cut edge smooth (if you have it like this anyway then the cut edge could be cutting into a wire or afew wires) then put pleanty of insulation tape along the cut edge.

i would just put the contents of that folder onto your usb stick
including the QA flag .pkg's

i cannot remember if the QA flag needed the update in the root of the stick (not in any folders)
or in the folders like a normal update
i allways just dump the folder content onto my usb stick.

but make sure you are QA flagged this time by doing the button combo as described.
its so easy to turn QA flag back off by running the .pkg again.
so make sure its active.

with good hi-res pics

and while i remember a good shot of that ffc cable under the bdvd drive thats a pain to re-connect with fat fingers


if you can create a free account with imgur then the image quality wont get affected like it does on other image hosting sites

Hi baileysceam, I have managed to solder a wire to both tristate and e3 after tracing the cut cooper. now it stays on and I have made another dump like you said. I also have send the dump to your email. please tell me what to do? and now that you have 2 of my dumps one before the brick and the other after, could you tell me which one is better to use?

ok but now when i try it i try to flash it how you sed to do it i get the error 1 1 0 0 1 0 0 0 and this is wot it says in the flasher log start logging...

wow i really thought i wasnt going to hear you say that.
ok i'm just nipping out for 10 min but when i get back i will check the dump and see where we can go from here

btw can you just put the flash fun switch down and check it DOESNT halt the ps3 on boot (just to ensure the tristate wire isnt touching a ground anywhere)

That's what I thought as well, however I did mange to overcome that problem.

Anyway, have a good nipping. Yes when you get up, please do check them.
