Unhappy FTP Problem

I use Netgear WNR2000v3 router with DD-WRT. The last router I had FTP worked fine, it still works fine when I directly connect my PS3 to my PC. But the problem with this is I need to stay connected and my setup is very tidious to keep switching ethernet cables. When I try to connect to Multiman's FTP through the router it either gets Connection Timed out or Authentication failed. I know anything goes for username and password for multiman. Any idea on what to try or do? And yes, I tried disabling my router's firewall, didn't help.

I normally do direct copying, but check to make sure both the PS3 and the PC are connected to the same router (wirelessly) and that the address is correct. Like this post if it helped

@tehpirate Hello check on DD-WRT settings if you port forwarding and if FTP is enabled. (On your router).

Where abouts would the FTP settings be in the router? There's a lot of settings and I haven't learned where everything is yet, many times I've looked over things. and I have port 21 forwarded off my PS3's ip as I can FTP into my site from my computer.

I have port 21 forwarded off of my PS3's local ip. That didn't help though. And from my perspective no FTP server will work as the router is blocking FTP'ing to local devices and I really don't want to take the extra time to keep direct connecting my PS3 to my PC.

Use your internal IP and the external one too.

Well, the OP doesn't say which version of MM he uses, OpenPS3FTP is part of MM since version 2.06 as I remember now....Still I think the stand-alone version is better....

And ftp programs can be compared, no problem: http://lmgtfy.com/?q=compare+ftp+programs

OP might try another ftp client (I advise WinSCP) before messing with the settings in his router...
