if you can create a free account with imgur then the image quality wont get affected like it does on other image hosting sites

thanks for your help
LMAO I'll try to get hi-res pics. Don't have a AWSOME camera lying around but I can find a decent one. As for re-connecting LMAO that's what these boney fingers are for.

If you are delicate, and being sure to not apply excessive force. Then the best thing to use is a pair of Needle-Nosed Pliers.

If worried about damaging the FFC cable whilst gripping onto it. Then simply wrap-up or tape to the the pliers some patches of fabric or tissue to help protect what you are gripping. Although I didn't bother doing that myself - and my BD Drive is still seems to be working fine for me.

neither do i

i use my Sony Ericsson c905 phone

its old but the cam on it is brilliant.

i have it set as normal pics

dont zoom in

and flash off

best time i get pics is a bright day (not at night lol)

or i have a table lamps with a GU10 builb and a dimmer. so i can adjust the light untill i get pics just right.

for the board tracks you might have seen me post here and there i get these with a digital microscope via usb.
but you dont need to go that far lol

i have heard that if you remove the bdvd casing then its really easy to get detach / reattach that ffc from the laser instead of the main board.
but again i keep forgetting about trying this when i have one in lol

Quick questin @baileyscream . In the guide on dump verification section the only thing that threw some doubts my way were lookin for malformed headers. ASECURE LOADER and bootldr in HxD didn't match up to the example you set, is that just due to board variation?

THIS IS THE MALFORMED HEADDER SECTION

Ok now we need to take a look and check there are no malformed headers / file names / region names. This is what we are looking for:-

Correct............................Malformed.................................location
IFI..................................IJI...........................................00000200
asecure_loader..................asecure_loaher..........................00000420
eEID................................eIIH.........................................00000450
cISD................................cESH.......................................00000480
cCSD...............................cCSH.......................................000004B0
trvk_prg0.........................trvg_prk0..................................000004E0
trvk_prg1.........................trvg_prk1..................................00000510
trvk_pkg0.........................trvg_pkk0.................................00000540
trvk_pkg1.........................trvg_pkk1.................................00000570
cvtrm..............................cztrm.......................................00000600
metldr..............................mitldr.......................................00000820

ARE YOU SAYING YOURS WERE MISSING OR MIS SPELT?

THERE ARE EXTRA HEADDERS IN THE ACTUAL DUMP BUT THERE NOT PART OF THE CHECK AS THE EXTRA HEADDERS ARE FIRMWARE DEPENDANT. IS THAT WHAT YOU MENT?

nah sorry my bad mate it was the images you supplied below with the HxD. My HxD images matched up to your's other than ASECURE LOADER and bootldr. Also how do you determine HDD and firmware version and model number. Sorry to bother you on this it's just that I'd like to start verifying my own dumps. Like I stated in the dump check thread I was 99% sure but would like to become competent.

on the first page on this guide i don't see the solder diagrams listed ...it only tells how to set up progskeet using the clip. From what i have been reading the clips are mostly one time use so i assume its best to solder directly to the board..But a diagram is needed to show the solder points unless i missed it somehow..
thanks a bunch..
