I don't agree that Sony made their money out of enabling piracy. Both Microsoft and Sony only make money when you buy games. Nintendo have been the only company to make money on hardware sales for years.

I don't think anything will come of this for a long, long time. There are patents filed everyday and most of them never see the light of day. They are generally issued just to keep other people from doing anything similar to that.

Game stores are going to bankrupt if they're only going to relay on brand new full priced games.

Unless, they also sell cheaper XBL/PSN codes to redeem online afterwards, which is a bonus.

That and, have a machine to wipe the scratches from the discs completely, I noticed CeX stores have, and I asked to clean a Sonic 06 disc and the scratches were still there. Doubtful if it really cleans all scratches.

They already half implimented this shyt by introducing the online pass key. This does not surprise me in the slightest. Maybe this dumb ass mistake by $ony will force the hackers hands at coming together and work towards bringing this to it's knees no sooner than it is released.
