Nope! I don't think you need to downgrade before updating to REBUG 4.30.1. But follow the instructions "can be installed on any version CFW with spkg sig check patched and QA enabled" so toggle QA flag before installing.
The safest and easiest route IMO is to first install REBUG 9.99 Downgrader over ROGERO 4.30 v.2.05 (no need to QA flag) from XMB or Recovery menu, then install REBUG 4.30.1 over the REBUG 9.99 Downgrader, and you're done!

Wait! Another Rogero 4.30 CFW Update in less than 24hours?? (AKA Rogero CFW 4.30 v.2.05)...erratic not to mention seriously unhealthy for Devflash.
The Rogero Dev should relax, test his CFW for at least a 3weeks before releasing to avoid this seriously erratic FW updates. Even Grandpa SONY doesn't do that !

But I found in another forum, that the Rebug 9.99 downgrader is only for systems witout QA toggled, http://psx-scene.com/forums/f118/rog...-stuck-108196/ which I had on, when updating to Rogero.

You need to change something in the toolbox to turn the spoofer on. Don't know what for sure

Figured it out, downgraded with Rogero's guide and then updated with Rebug 4.30

I researched because I didn't wanna risk bricking my baby

But now i have another problem, when using MM and Rebug toolbox, when choosing a game or exiting, the PS3 shuts down, and the red led flashes?
Then i can start it up again, so don't think it's bricked, but can't do anything because it keeps shutting down??
