ok... but when i go to cfw 3.55 deactivate toggle_qa am i able to update to ofw 3.55 ?

what i want to do is (qa flag is now disabled) -> use the 4.25to3.55 downgrader by rogero to get on hybrid cfw 3.55-4.30
install toggle_qa and enable qa flag (i would install it on rog 4.30 but it gives me an error when i launch it)
then downgrade to hermes cfw 3.41.... disable qa flag, format hdd and delete all homebrews
then i want to update to ofw 3.55

is that ok or is there anything i need to know?

EDIT3: i just read that when youre on cfw 3.55 you are able to update to any other fw 3.55 without downgrading is that true? if yes id do this:
rogeros downgrader 4.25to3.55.PUP
enable qa flag
rogeros cfw 3.55 v3.7
disable qa flag
and then ofw 3.55

will this work?

Do you know the person you bought the console from? Because if you send it back on 3.55 he could try and blame the firmware update. The answer to your question is yes you can install 3.55 via recovery with qa flag de-activated. But seriously like @carldenning said chances oh him doing button combo are very slim, unless he is a dishonest seller and is going to go through the console with a fine tooth comb.

i bought in on eBay but on his profile i see that he has many ~100 used PS3's sold... some with YLOD some without HDD but all with fw 3.55 or lower
and what do you mean with button combo... i thought when qa flag is disabled you cant do the button combo to enable more options in network settings

well i contacted him and i said you delivered at to me with an harware issue
in hope of fixing it i updated to ofw 3.55 (told himnothing about cfw)

and now he says he wont take it back cause i updated the fw and its very rare and so on...

when i go to ofw 3.55 there wont be any clues that i was on cfw right..?

He sounds as dodgy as they come fella if you used paypal I would get ya money back.

but he wants that we send the ps3 to him back so he can check it (again)
he said that he played for hours and watched movies on it before he send it us...

well i think its a lie since he sells every 2 days a new ps3...

if we get our money back from PayPal do we have to deliver the PS3 back?

just do a full format and remove all homebrew apps deactivate qa flag shouldn't be able to tell no.

he says that i have installed ofw 3.55 he wont take my ps3 back or pay the repair costs...

btw is there a way to get to ofw 3.15 back without leaving qa flag enabled? just wondering

I would get in touch with paypal and tell them the goods are faulty and open a dispute. you can get back to whatever firmware it was on with a fsm dongle an old psp1000 will work as a fsm dongle. First off you need to contact paypal. I can bet he has had lots of disputes with paypal, which will work in your favour. Don't send it back just get in touch with paypal, then once you get money back return the console no matter what firmware it is on. Paypal always favour the buyer in most cases.
