logic board question
Got a fat G model ps3 with the 4000AAA and 400AAA in the other day with the problem of not reading disk.on inspection it was the laser so changed out the laser for a new one and tested working fine. sent it back and couple of days later it lands back with the same problem, i asked the client what happened said nothing just stopped working he also said he had one or two updates in-between.
so tryed a few lasers on it and the same thing, i was wondering could one of the chips on the logic board be gone or corrupt causing the lasers to be burn out Ps First post on here go me

then i don't have to look further on the logic board for problems, i found a faulty part, but changing that only fixed the injecting and ejecting issue. (board suffered from dead motors syndrom)

the ps3 lasers need adjusting when you fit them from new (assuming the op has rememberd to de-solder the anti-static tag)
there a pain to do. some lasers need no adjusting others do. chances are the first time you tried the laser it was out so it re-focused its self slightly more than it should have. and so appeard to be ok best test play a game then a bdvd film then a normal dvd film if it works on all 3 then its good and no adjustment is needed i have a link somewhere for how to adjust it. i will see if i can find it but i have loads of links so i could be awhile oh and again. its a real pain in the arse to adjust it. |
