Are PS3 consoles on 3.55 or below still being sold at retail? I have shaky hands and don't really do well at stuff requiring precision assembly so I can't do the hardware flash method.

The only pre-owned console I saw from a "reputable" seller on Ebay goes for 500 dollars

Ebay or craigs list is your best bet, but no retailer will have a model still on 3.55 or lower. Your best bet is to just pay a few extra bucks and get one that is specifically on cfw...........shouldnt be that hard to find.

Type in ps3 downgrade on ebay. I recommend sending your ps3 to user garakani4, your ps3 will be downgraded, cleaned, new thermal paste applied and will be back to you within 7 days, great dude to deal with.

If you're in the UK, Asda Direct are still selling brand new PS3 slims 120gb. They are all guaranteed to be below 3.55. The one I bought was 3.30.

No Sarah, I don't work for Asda! I did buy 3 second hand PS3s with ylod and spent a whole day searching for a brand new PS3 that I could guarantee would be on or below 3.55 CFW! After many infuriating hours of finding nothing or ridiculously overpriced consoles I came across the ones for Sale on Asda! I am simply trying to help out any UK residents that want a new PS3 on 3.55 or less at a reasonable price.
