I don't why you think it would be bad, when PC market does it now.
Devs also produce games to the best specs possible then scale back in order to remain compatible. If consoles had this same approach, launch price could be kept low, as the console makers would recoup ther cost over the life cycle of the console(with ram upgrades after 4-5 years). |

if you think that would keep the price low at launch you are a fool
if you do not see how this idea is open to abuse, the same applies why offer an upgrade when they can sell a brand new console with a little added functionality xbox released original 360 > 4gb fats > slims with built in wifi nintendo release upgraded ds models all the time sony are the ones who give nothing extra in new models but take more away, i.e. pspgo / non BC ps3's sony do not entertain the idea of keeping prices down or saving customers money give them the option to upgrade and they WILL downgrade specs (cripple) before launch

They gave: Blu-ray, hard drive, Bluetooth 2.0 rechargable controllers, Wi-fi, HDMI 1.3, 1gig Ethernet, free online gaming all as standard. Sony including the above saved me a packet on: Hard drive upgrades (uses standard cheap drives I can Change myself, not expensive optional extra). Blu-ray Drive(not expensive optional extra) Rechargables controllers(no need for expensive charge cables & batteries) Wi-Fi(no need for optional extras) Free online gaming(no expensive fees to play online) |

those were there at launch. they didnt give them to you. you paid for them at launch. later models had either the same or less functionality on sku updates, did they "give" or "take" functionality. other consoles usually improve experiences, sony do not upgrade psp > pspgo (lose UMD and rebuy games) upgrade from launch ps3 (lose BC and rebuy ps2 games) so as i was saying, why would they "give" you the option of saving money? honestly, its cool that you are committed to sony but don't be blind lol, thats how you are perceived to be a fanboy i am a realist. i love my psp/pspgo/ps3/psvita but i recognize the reality of the company behind them and their lackluster commitment to their customers. i also recognize the merits of other companies as well as their failings, something im afraid you seem unable to be able do edit. expensive online fees? £28 for a year for a far superior service?

they dont give you nothing, you bought it with that features (maybe if there wasn't, you didn't buy it) and comparing features in a time line you will see how the features decrease across the years

He still doesn't understand the point that newer PS3's have less and less features. What does my Launch day 60GB PS3 have that the brand new super slims dont? Lets see...
What does the slim or super slim have that mine doesnt?
Damn. What a nice tradeoff... *rolls eyes* |
