Them phat ps3 are a pain. There is i tiny little resistor sitting bottom right of the nor chip. You need te shave a little of the plastic from the e3 clip so it sits flush on the board. Believe me i broke a clip and a console messing with it. Just take your time and examine how flush the clip is to the board. You also need constant pressure on the clip with tape some even put a coin under the tape.

that was one of the first and after awhile (for some) u begin to understand that it isn't required at all..the dremel...although this is a great way on cech20xx models an a perm-e3 install then it sits perfectly then again u can bend the e3ribbon a little further so it goes over the "hdd slot" instead and when doing it carefully u can put the ps3 back together without any cutting, but this 20xx models and perm install..yes great way...no hassle with huge finger ![]() when doing just a downgrade, no need for all this mess, atleast slims are great to work with when dissambled and downgrade, all worked..made valid dumps....take e3 out, put together ps3 and finish the downgrade/installing pup then make "software flash dumps" incase of brick, bytereverse those software dumps when required to restore ps3 with e3 |

You dont need to conect e3 flasher in ps3 hdd place, put ps3 hdd in ps3 hdd place, and e3 flasher move some out, e3 flasher will get power via nor chip, put some sponge on e3 clip on nor chip, tape it and try again.

Btw can I dump & flash the nor using E3 Flasher without having to rebuild at all the PS3 or it would overheat because there is no fan and that the CPU are not with their heatsinks? Last edited by jamesst20; 01-09-2013 at 05:12 PM. |
