Could be you mangles the ribbon for the power/eject board. Sometimes when you are taking it apart and putting it back together you kink the ribbon cable so much putting it back in, that you actually sever a copper trace in the ribbon. Check with a mitt ether on continuity that each copper trace has a short from one end to the other. If one doesn't have a short, then there is your problem. 99% of the time, you can just trim the ribbon cable back past the bad spot and voila.

maybe but problem is the connector is loose already.. it might break off anytime.. and im looking for one just in case it breaks off.. but for now i have no leads were to get one and i have asked around from here also.. does anybody know were i might find one..

i will ask my friend to solder it for me again to strengthen the connector and have him check the ribbon if it has no short..

Help please..my problem is when I was doing the downgrade step with E3 flasher my power went out and ps3 2001a won't stay on..so i removed sd card and E3 document said ps3 bios erased ok..but my system doesn't stay on, turns off..I was able to update the flasher with another ps3 with new update from E3 (the one that says no more solder to un brick) and now my bricked ps3 stays on..I have a valid dump and a patched dump..any ideas on how to fix my ps3..it's my first brick after 37 downgrades..and it sucks bad

You tried connnecting Tristate to GND ?

It will halt your ps3 from turning off.

i can keep it on know since i updated flasher with new update (the one that says no more solder to un brick) i tried to flash my patched dump with all switches down and all i get is the 1st, 2nd and 7th blue flashing lights..i even tried my original dump with 1st up and others down and same results (blue flashing leds)
i can't locate the trisate point to solder on my board 2001A..besides i have no soldering skills..but would try if i can locate tristate
