Could be you mangles the ribbon for the power/eject board. Sometimes when you are taking it apart and putting it back together you kink the ribbon cable so much putting it back in, that you actually sever a copper trace in the ribbon. Check with a mitt ether on continuity that each copper trace has a short from one end to the other. If one doesn't have a short, then there is your problem. 99% of the time, you can just trim the ribbon cable back past the bad spot and voila.

i will ask my friend to solder it for me again to strengthen the connector and have him check the ribbon if it has no short.. |

Help please..my problem is when I was doing the downgrade step with E3 flasher my power went out and ps3 2001a won't stay on..so i removed sd card and E3 document said ps3 bios erased ok..but my system doesn't stay on, turns off..I was able to update the flasher with another ps3 with new update from E3 (the one that says no more solder to un brick) and now my bricked ps3 stays on..I have a valid dump and a patched dump..any ideas on how to fix my ps3..it's my first brick after 37 downgrades..and it sucks bad

It will halt your ps3 from turning off.
