A rar file is just like a zip file. I would name others just like it but you most likely wouldn't understand if you don't know what a rar file is.

Download it to your desktop and double click on it to open it. Inside you'll file the "PS3UPDAT.PUP" that you put on a flash drive in the following folders:
PS3>UPDATE>PS3UPDAT.PUP

Are you updating this for yourself or to sell? If to sell, leave it as is and let the purchaser worry about updating since you're having trouble with what a rar file is.

Thanks for the help. And yes I'm not that tech savy just yet. Other than what you just told me, how much harder can it get?
