Having trouble getting into FSM
Well as the title says, Ive been following the Ultimate Fool Proof Guide: Ps3 Hardware Downgrading in the E3 section as a guide.
I'm to the part where you place the original DUMP file and the E3downgrade file on the SD card. Everything works fine, the lights go up one at a time, and I get the little text file with a lot of OKs I then turn the ps3 on, but I don't get the Connect a controller screen, it just boots normally into the XMB. I tried the alternate way of doing it the FlowRebuilder patching & flashing, but that didn't work either. same results. Any ideas anyone?

Well I was thinking about it, does anyone have another E3downgrade file I can use, maybe the one I have is not right?

I turn off the PS3 Using the power switch on the back, I wait awhile, then turn it on and hit the eject right after. I have the Dev board plugged in the right USB spot. Well nothing happens, it just loads the connect a controller screen again. From what I read the PS3 should turn off, but it doesn't. I read it should turn off in a few seconds. I remember from before something about holding the power button waiting to hear 2 beeps then pressing eject or something like that? Is that something I need to find again to get my specific model into FSM? |

okay, so now put the flasher in the right usb port, turn on the ps3 and tap the eject a few times. then should switch off.
