here is the correct E3 Flasher Progskeet_Patch.txt ready for E3 ONLY!
all credits to ps3devwiki and whoever that made it

use option "Patch a byte reversed NOR dump" with ur original E3 DUMP(FII header @ offset 200) and load the provided Progskeet_patch.txt, then u have a correctly patched OFW dump with 355 COREOS ready for downgrade, after flashing and a "normal" reboot, the PS3 should give u the "Connect controller screen"

Oh and some people in the netherlands that offer ps3 jailbreaking service are saying that Swiftly? discovered LV0 decryption keysm and that this makes it possible to jailbreak almost all OFW, next to the famous 3.55FW.

Is this true, and will this be possible on other ps3 slims (like CECH25xx/30xx)

Oh, and i've posted a question on the previous page, not bumping, just saying.

Well neither path would get the ps3 to the screen where it says to plug in a controller. Sigh
goto that loacation and you will find "E3 downgrade" as a winrar (compressed) file.
just extract it then you will have the text and files to use in flowrebuilder

Hey everyone just to let you all know Ive finally got it running Rogero, so Im looking into the De-hashing part next, then off to learn how to run emulators and stuff like that! Thanks so much for all the help, and probably the future help! haha. Thanks again!

Hey Bailey In the Dehashing whats the run a QA toggle? Is this something that's already on the ps3? Or do I need to install it? I haven't messed with the ps3 yet.

I'm Looking to play ROMs and stuff like that Mainly to use it as a Video player to watch MKVs and avoid that Cinava protection as I want to digitize my dvd collection

And i have some questions.

Any change that this PS3 will be hackable, or is it most likely to be a 30xx model that can't be downgraded/jailbroken?
if your buying brand new then it will probably be a 3000 version
if you want homebrew then buy second hand

What is consider the easiest downgrade?
E3 flasher or Teensy (Both solderless)?
both are but you need to buy the 360clip (NOR type) for the teensy++ then follow my diagram to connect it to the teensy

although thats just my opinion other ppl like E3 or progskeet.

Also, i want to know what to buy when using the Teensy++ downgrade/CFW install.
-Teensy++ (V1.0??)
-56 pin NOR clip
-anything else?
jumper leads
and get the headders soldered to the Teensy++ when you buy it (dont tell them your using it on the ps3 or they wont sell you it btw)

I prefer a more or less solderless solution like with the NOR clips.

And does anyone knows where i can get a Teensy/E3 flasher kit (Flasher, dev board, NOR clip, all in one) in/around europe? (i live in the netherlands)
i'm in uk so maybe someone else closer to you on this forum can answer this

Oh, and can i see on the box what type it is? (CECH 2501A/3001A).
If i can find a CECH 2501A ps3 slim, is there a big change that this one can be downgraded/jailbroken?
it should have it printed on the side of the box.
but if you can get close enough to one before you buy it to see is another thing.

maybe tell them your replacing a friends and you need the same model so he wont notice lol

In a very recent announcement, there were included a pretty detailed guide for how to install this latest Rogero (4.30 v2.05). Including links to files, etc.

http://www.ps3hax.net/2013/01/releas...nstead-of-ipf/

One thing that interested me was written in red text:

"ATTENTION:
1- This CFW does have LV1 checks disabled and can be installed on Downgraded PS3 consoles even if not dehashed after downgrade. Just in case anyone still need to dehash, here’s the link Link —-> Dehashing Tutorial"

It's not clear whether Rogero himself wrote that. But my question is: Is there any possible risk(s) to de-hashing? Because if "yes" then maybe I should not risk doing that (de-hashing)? This is assuming that I have a valid dump of my original NOR data, and my hardware flasher (teensy2.0++) - it is now permanently installed into my PS3. So can re-flash that original dump whenever necessary.

Another thing I noticed was slightly above that, under the following heading:

"Rogero CFW4.30 v2.03 Details
...
* The CFW can be used directly for Downgrading with Hardware flashers /Flashing from FSM/Exiting from FSM, all works fine."

Sadly, it doesn't elaborate any further as to HOW to do this. Perhaps that simply only changing the 3.55CFW installer files for the Rogero4.3 v2.05 one. Anyone here know anything 'bout that?

Hi baileyscream,

I read your post and was about to flash the ps3 after soldering. However, it stopped working again. I unsoldered them twice now both tristate and sbe. but no use. If you remember both my sbe and tristate were snapped and broken. Now I checked the soldering and noticed that were I traced the sbe was also broken. Now I was wondering is there an alternative point for SBE? I read that I would need to ground tristate, how can I do that if its an alternative to connecting to SBE? Please help.

Well, you have to make sure beforehand which PS3 you are buying and that it can be downgraded for sure. That is absolutely crucial. You can find out which consoles can be downgraded by visiting the PS3DevWiki website.

What is consider the easiest downgrade?
E3 flasher or Teensy (Both solderless)?
To pay someone else to do it for you, of course.

Also, i want to know what to buy when using the Teensy++ downgrade/CFW install.
-Teensy++ (V1.0??)
-56 pin NOR clip
-anything else?
You need to visit PS3DevWiki website, and navigate to the Teensy2.0++ wiki page. There it lists all of the required items you will need.

I prefer a more or less solderless solution like with the NOR clips.
I would advise pay for a downgrade service then. Because they will use a clip they are sure works. If you buy your own clip, it can be expensive, and it might not work. For a similar price to a clip, you might pay someone else to downgrade you.

And does anyone knows where i can get a Teensy/E3 flasher kit (Flasher, dev board, NOR clip, all in one) in/around europe? (i live in the netherlands)
I live in Europe too. You can buy the Teensy2.0++ directly from PJRC in USA. They will charge you $8 for international airmail shipping to your country. But don't forget to add to your order their $1 voltage regulator! (it's NOT included automatically!!).

As for E3: its far more expensive than Teensy2.0++. Therefore, for personal uses I don't recommend to anyone the E3 flasher. E3 / Progskeet / NOR clips make more sense when used for providing downgrade service instead.

Oh, and can i see on the box what type it is? (CECH 2501A/3001A).
If i can find a CECH 2501A ps3 slim, is there a big change that this one can be downgraded/jailbroken?
You need to find out for yourself from the tables on PS3DevWiki website.

Yes. But don't remember who it was.

and that this makes it possible to jailbreak almost all OFW, next to the famous 3.55FW.
No. Absolutely not. A jailbreak is an exploit. And the USB exploit (PSGrade) has been closed since 3.60. We only have the 3.55 private keys. So we can do is decrypt any future OFWs with LV0 first, then modify those into CFW, and can simply re-sign it as 3.55. SO as long as your console is already on some 3.55 based furmwares, all is fine.

Is this true, and will this be possible on other ps3 slims (like CECH25xx/30xx)
No. Unless some new hack or exploit is proven. None are know about yet.

It sounds like you completely buggered it. If I were in your shoes, I'd think seriously about calling it a day, calling it quits. Stop and put everything back together, and don't downgrade it. Why not just be happy with staying on OFW. That's not really such a bad choice compared to almost certainly destroying your PS3.

You can easily improve your soldering skills by asking yourself questions like this:

* Did you use plenty of FLUX (grease) to cover this area of the PCB before you began soldering?

* How did you manage break the PCB trace when it is covered by a protective silk screen? Applied too much heat and leave the soldering iron resting on the PCB for too long? (of course, generously using FLUX does protect against this). Or perhaps it was the wrong type of solder? Lead-free solder has a higher melting temperature than lead-based solder.

* Did you use a 15-20 W soldering iron with a FINE tip? Using a more powerful soldering iron with a larger tip here is a very bad idea.

* Do you now actually know for certain what you did wrong? Are you confident that you have learned enough to avoid doing those same mistake(s) again?
