Do not think there is one built in.
Multiman use to be able to play PSX backups, although none of the CFW 4.30 versions support it. Something or other is missing.
In order to play PS2 games, regardless of firmware, you would need to be running on a PS3 which is backwards compatible.

The only way to play PSP isos, is to use a cobra dongle and cobra 3.55 cfw. There is no way to do so on 4.x cfw yet...

You can play PS2 games on any PS3 (fat or slim) with the PS2 FSM tool: http://www.ps3hax.net/showthread.php?t=34059

Getting Playstation 2 Software Emulator working

Method (on Firmware 3.55, without! Cobra-USB Dongle or Downgrade) for all consoles (fat & slim).

1. Replace following files on your consoles /dev_flash/
with the ones included in this archive
p3dwik-ps2compatfiles.rar
2. Get into Factory Service Mode (FSM Tool/Dongle)
3. Insert your Original PS2 Game Disc
4. It will run.

Note: Backups wont work. You're getting the compatibility of the 2.60 software emulator with all of its bugs.
But compatibility is pure a$$

Sorry to beat a dead horse here, but You can use React PSN and Rogero 4.30 and run the PS2 classics from PSN if you have a valid PKG file and a proper Rap file. GtA san Andreas For example, can be played with this method.
