so i am at the point where my NOR dump has been validated so i have written the patched dump back to the e3 NOR and begun the downgrade proces.

for factory service mode i am using a psp 3004 with 6.60 PRO-B10.
i plugged the psp with the jig running in the farthest right usb port, power cycle my ps3 and do the power-eject button combination.

the psp then says:

requesting jig challenge...
challenge recieved: 00 01 FF FF 2E 02 01 AA 0E 0F...
calcultaing response...
sending response: 00 01 FF 00 2E 02 02 AA AA 7D...
sent response: 00 01 FF 00 2E 02 02 AA AA 7D...
done.

but still my ps3 boots with the screen sayin:
connect the controller using a usb cable, and then press the PS button.

this occurs every time i try to boot it in factory service mode

what am i doing wrong here?
any ideas/suggestions?

I guess ps3jig will only work on old psp's.

Try using a different USB cable.

already did that i'm afraid....
guess i will still have to but the e3 cardreader.
or ask my friend if i can borrow his psp fat 1000.

wrong psp version
wrong psp cfw version

you need psp1000 or 1001
and 5.50gen d4<? or is it d5

but either way the psp is wrong.
