After switching from Kmeaw to rebug 4.21.1 all was working fine for a while.
Then i started playing Kingdoms of Amalur from internal ..after playing 2 or 3 times my BluRay Discicon dissapeared from the XMB.
Some times it came back after powering of, or do bdreset.. or even a hardreset..but now it seemz it wont come back at all.

The drive recoginzes DVDs still but not my BLuRay Game ...

And if i mount a game via Mulitaman i get back to xmb no disc symbol..when i try to start the games via app/home they show up at least go to a loading screen for a second then kick me back to the xmb....

so at first i thought the lens died out but if thats the case shouldnt the games start up via app/home (i know there are games that need a disc but the ones who dont neither start up) ?? or culd it still be the lens ?

also tried rebug 4.21.2 today but icon is not back

Someone has any clue what that could be ?

take out the game, this will fix the return to xmb problem....

well at least discless games work now (DMC sadly not )

so it could be the laser is going dead...
can that happen even if you almost never ever used any original game or movie in there?

@Longshot , did you checked the game?, or do you have more original games or a bd movie to try?

i don't know much about rebug, i'm still on kmeaw.

the back to XMB "crash" depends on the game
for example heavy reain
app_home -> back to XMB
blu-ray icon -> works

app_home doesnt have to do anything with the bd
someone correct me if im wrong


btw app_home also works when i have game in? (i always have a game in)

Yeh you need a new laser, even if it detects other media, if the disc doesn't show up within XMB it has had its day and it's frequent fault tbh.

the ps3 still checks the drive, even if you start your game from app_home.

a game in the drive (blue led on), but no disc icon means returning to xmb when trying to launch a game from app_home.

i guess its really the lens/laser .... even if i rarly ever used the bd drive..

what i tried last hour was to clean the lens...but after removing the bd drive from the ps3 i seen the extrem small screws and i had no tool..so i had to put it back in for the time being..just started the ps3 up...and now icon is back oO
