please let me apologise in advance.
I'm a total noob when it comes to jailbroken PS3 and all things concerned.
I've looked everywhere online but there is so much (contradictory and old) information. So I'm hoping you can help me out with this:

I have a PS3 running Rogero 4.30 and multiman 4.17
Now I would like to play original PS2 games on this.
I found the following method:

1. Replace following files on your consoles /dev_flash/
with the ones included in this archive
p3dwik-ps2compatfiles.rar
2. Get into Factory Service Mode (FSM Tool/Dongle)
3. Insert your Original PS2 Game Disc
4. It will run

will this work for me? and if so, could you maybe explain in more detail?

So I installed kmeaw 3.55 on an old phat ps3 I had lying around and tried the method out on that. Unfortunately i keep getting this error message when i try to start the ps2-games:

an error occured during the start operation (80028F14)

Anybody any thoughts on what the problem could be???

You either need a cobra butt plug, a backwards compatible PS3 or a PS2 to play PS2 games.

I did post this before so I don't know why I need to again......I guess some people can't read.....

sorry that you had to repeat yourself, but like i said before I'm a noob and so I go by what I read on forums like these.
If there's several threads saying it can be done (like the one i posted earlier), i thought it was worth a try.

ps: if you don't like repeating yourself, maybe you should go after the people spreading this information (there are quite a few on this forum alone)

I have heard this 10000 times to and I know your going to say probably not but I know we can run linux on the ps3(AWSOME if you ask me). But because of such I have an idea.

I don't know the coding language used for ps3 (I haven't looked at it yet. Give me a little and we'll see) but I know you should be able to convert the program to the ps3 language for emulation of the PS2 ISO's. Because it can run a PC firmware it should be able to run ISOs(You'd think at least).

I know there is a PSX emulation software for the PS2 isos that you can run on windows computers(I've used it. Sucks but it works). In theory if someone re-assigned(if needed) the PC software to PS3 coding it should run just fine. But as I said theory. I'm not the best at programming but it sounds possible since we can get a computer language to run on the PS3 (Which is something of an accomplishment)

I have a fat old 60gb PS3 with the PS2 hardware and kmeaw 3.55 and have never had a single problem running PS2 games. Is yours the kind that emulates PS2 or the kind with the actual PS2 hardware?

Can't you play PS1 games? On a Kmeaw 3.55 SLIM Ps3? Or does it have to be like a download...?

Every CEX console can play PS1 games...
