Can you check to see if you have damaged/bent any of the pins on the clip. Also try cleaning the clip pins and nor pins with some isopropyl alcohol.

Hey, one suggestion. I see in your pics, the ribbon is on top of the heat pad. I always have the ribbon under that heat pad. Being so close to the clip, that lift from on that side of the clip, may be your problem.

Also I have found 4 nickels on top of each other wrapped in duct tape, is the correct distance to hold the clip on. On that model anyway.

I think i've finally got it working! I cleaned the nor chip and the clip with alcohol, I put 50 cents on the clip and i've put like 45 cents on the metal case and when i tested it i finally got the blue lights on with the sanded clip for the first time. I tried to make a dump and it worked (i've also noticed with the other methods there was always one light shining bright and and never shut down when trying to make the dump and that happend now) now i'm going to look if flowrebuilder can extract it. I hope that this is what i needed to do and that i wont get an error with flowrebuilder

Even without an error with flowrebuilder you will have to verify your dump. Or have somebody verify it for you in the dump checking thread.

Try more coins but make sure you have a flush connection. Hold the board at eye level and see if the clip is sitting flush. I think you may need to sand the clip some more.

You are getting closer. Try what I said in my last post. 4 nickels, not 2 quarters or a quarter and 2 dimes.
Also put that ribbon under that heat pad.

I don't know how much 4 nickels are >_<, something like 4x 20 cents? I tried that out but that was too much, the board wouldn't fit in the metal case anymore Anyway thank you guys for the help! I'll try it out later this evening with a bit more sanding the clip and putting the ribbon under the heatpad etc.

Do you want a real fix! I will tell you.

1st do exactly like you did in your screenshot but with 2 or 3 cents.
2nd put back the metal case and a few screws
3rd now plug only the required (power and hard drive and E3 Flasher)
4th locate where the clip is. It is close to where the screw of the DVD reader is.
5th use anything like the back of a screwdriver and push hard on metal case the closest to the E3 Clip
6th start backup process and keep pushing if needed

Hope you understand

Edit a picture to help, you push right there in the red cercle, if I remember good it was pretty much there. But whatever you get the point, try to push on the clip ^^

Sorry, I thought that was a penny in the photo, in your first post. So I assumed you were American. A nickel is a 5 cent piece.

A nickel is 1.95 mm thick.

That is not even close to the OP's model. The pic in the OP is from a phat PS3. Yours is a slim.
