I'm surprised the "question-that-will-not-be-named" hasn't been asked yet...

@cfwprpht
again some question what is it about those hermes patches on 3.55? what will they do exactly? i thought mm does this on the fly and why do you have incomplete "Syscall_Map_Open_Desc"? there is no search pattern at all Last edited by haxxxen; 01-12-2013 at 04:33 PM. |

@haxxxen
the hermes patch for 3.55 is exact the same thing the rogero CFW 4.xx have right now (payload) but with the diff that i haved this payload lv2 patch in my cfw since a few month's now. I just never released my cfw or the .tcl patches.
And no mm do not patch on the fly. MM mount a payload into lv2 where it stays till you cold reboot your con. I added the hermes payload into my cfw cause to this time deank have not shared the bd-emu.bin together with mm and as i was left for a year and then come back after i just hated it to google why my games not work and i hated it to google for that damn bd-emu.bin. Just stupid. There for i added hermes payload to the lv2 of my cfw. The "Sys_cal_yada_yada" isn't incomplete. This is in case of the version you have still use unself to decrypt. But unself fail on some self'S and you would need to use unself2 or scetool on it to get the correct file out. You can test this by just take lv2_kernel.self and first use unself then unself2 and give a look on the size if both files. There you have why "there is no search pattern at all" |

ok, thanks again for your explanation
![]() i hope i am not boring you @cfwprpht , but i am just curious about this mfw thing edit nevermind. got it sorted. i had given the false key path. i have had to select the .ps3 folder under tools ![]() but another question, if i can hide those cmd windows by default, as they can get really annoying? those windows go in front of all others! i remember those from euss's ps3mfw builder release edit2 the patch_cos task does not work properly for me. it gives me there is no such variable error with lv0 ecdsa patch, even i have not selected it. i only have activated 3.55 peek and poke and 3.55 hermes patches. as base i am using 355.001.forDEX.release.20101126d pup i guess you have to seperate the single options a bit more and define them in main process edit3 now this makes me sick. i have to modify the tasks myself to make them work...weird nobody else having problems with it Last edited by haxxxen; 01-13-2013 at 05:06 AM. |

thx for the share
tested some things with: REX 4.21.2 (only XMB patch to get homebrew tab or only Privacy patch applied!!) OFW 4.21 ( only priv patch) it extracts dev_flash stuff fine but always an FATAL ERROR whentrying to aplly the patches there is no such variable error like @haxxxen already posted edit @haxxxen , ok whatever the "hash" protection means, also seen the error "can't decrypt header" = missing key? gonna wait for stable release, always fun to make ur own, but for now REX boots just fine

these were not ready for release at all to me. there is an entry/definition, which is not set in basic task (modify_self_file2)...or is this the protection?
@haz367 please remember, leaving playstation.net, as it will render some psn games useless and they will blackscreen. there should be a reminder at least edit @haz367 works fine for me the privacy task i assume only the critical patches are secured...? about the decrypting, i have already posted, that you must select in settings the key folder, which is in tools folder. so keys are in ps3mfw/tools/.ps3 edit2 @cfwprpht your patch_cos task is way too confusing and way too much mixed for me. needs alot rewriting edit3 now i get pattern found mutiple times error with patching Hermes payload pointer Syscall_Map_Open_Desc. too bad. this one i cannot modify as i do not know how to Last edited by haxxxen; 01-13-2013 at 12:19 PM. |
