Problems: 80010006 and new hdd not working
Hey Guys..
firstly, i'm not a native english speaker, so please don't focus on my language .I recently updated from kmeaw 3.55 to rogero 4.30. I'm using a phat ps3 with a broke bd drive. On the first couple of days everthing worked fine, i could play farcry3, max payne 3 and other games form internal. Suddenly all newer games gave me error 80010006. I wasn't able to play any newer games without getting this error. I had bdmirror on, i tried in from internal and from external.. always the same error. i formatted the hdd, i refreshed the database (or whatever it is called, my ps3 unfortunately uses german language). I read somewhere that this can happen because of a broken hdd. So i changed my hdd from the standard 70gb to a 320 gb i used in a laptop before (and which was working perfectly so far). When i plugged it in, i was asked to plug in a usb stick with an at least 4.30 firmware on it. I put exactly the same firmware i installed before on the old hdd on de usb stick on x:/PS3/UPDATE/ and named it PS3UPDAT.PUP. The PS is recognising it, then there is a "preparation for installing the firmware" (i have to translate it, not sure what it is exactly called in english). On 74% it stops and a new message appears: "no applicable update data was found..". I couldn't do anything, so i plugged in the old hdd again, downgraded it to 3.55 and installed ofw 3.55. I plugged in the new hdd again, trying to install the 3.55 firmware via usb stick. I get the same error again on 93% of the preparation of the install. I used 3 different usb sticks, i downloaded the ofw 3 times form different sources, i formatted the usb sticks several times on different laptops (mac and windows). NOTHING'S working. Please guys.. are there any tips on 1. how to solve the 80010006 problem on the old hdd? 2. how to install the firmware on the new hdd? Are there any ideas what else i could try? Could it have something to do with the broken BD drive? It is very likely that i forgot to mention something i tired because i spent a couple of hours trying different stuff... Please ask if you need any information. I appreciate every help you can give!!!! greetings and thanks in advance! Last edited by noidea; 01-13-2013 at 05:53 AM. |

if no install toggle_QA and open it on the ps3 ps3 should restart with 3 beeps then try to install ofw 3.55 or rogero 4.30 v2.05 on the new HDD again

hey FaxiY,
thanks for your fast reply. I installed toggle_qa when i was on the 4.30to3.55 downgrade firmware, before i installed ofw 3.55. verything worked fine, i heard the 4 beeps and activated the menu (everything like explained here) atm I'm on ofw 3.55 and i can see toggle qa in xmb, but it's not working (when i start it there are no beeps and i go back to xmb). i can't even reinstall it because there's no install option on ofw 3.55... What shall i do, installing rogero 3.55 v.3.7 and reinstalling toggle qa there? afterwards plugging in the new hdd and flashing which firmware? thank you for any idea!!! faxyY, i will send you a pm! |

************* [ - Post Merged - ] ************* Update: FaxiY gave me some advice in german to make it a little easier for me . this is what i'll try now: I will install rogero 3.55 v.3.7 on the old hdd and then try to use this firmware on an usb stick to install it on the new hdd. I will give an update afterwards.. ************* [ - Post Merged - ] ************* Okay, i installed rogero 3.55 v.3.7 on the old hdd and plugged in the new hdd again. I had the rogero 3.55 v.3.7 on the usb. This time the preparation for the firmware install stopped at 94% .************* [ - Post Merged - ] ************* I tried to install rogero 4.30 v.2.05, but it still gives me the same error: preparing failed, use device with at least 3.55 firmware on it and press select + start. ************* [ - Post Merged - ] ************* I tried to unplug the controller after i pressed start+select, didnt work. i tried to plug in the usb stick first when i entered recovery menu, didnt work. ************* [ - Post Merged - ] ************* progress: i formatted the usb once again on a windows laptop (normally using mac) and the preparation works until 99% (never gone that far!) and stops on 99%. i will wait now

to the ppl who are smarter than me:
you can also post something because im slowly running out of suggestions a question to the pros: when you clone the old HDD to the new HDD... boot to XMB and choose format does it then have the 320gb? because when you clone in his case the HDD would get 40gb formatted

i quit the 99% status because there was no progress. Afterwards i formatted the new hdd to fat32 on a windows pc. i plugged it in again, formatted it ("hold select+start for 5 sec") and got the same old error in the end.
any more ideas? ![]() ************* [ - Post Merged - ] ************* is there any chance that the new hdd or the broken bd drive is causing the problems? i have no more ideas

UPDATE:
he has managed to install rogero 4.30 v2.05 by ignoring the error at 94% and leaving the window open now he said when he trys to start the PS3 he gets a simple background (something like recovery menu) no rogero logo and the ps3 forces him to let it restore the file system... he says the PS3 is stuck at 2% UPDATE: resotre file system also doesnt work via recovery menu its stuck at preparing will try now renew database UPDATE: renew databse also stuck at preparing will try the old HDD and see if it boots UPDATE: after reinstalling the old HDD the PS3 wants to reinstall the FW he installed rogero 4.30 v2.05 without problems and the old HDD is working well will now try to format the new HDD and install the new FW to the new HDD UPDATE: FW installed to new HDD but still gets a blackscreen on boot and when he chooses something in recovery menu the PS3 will freeze at the preparing step... old HDD was fine and the new HDD is compatible to the PS3 (wd32000BEVT 2.5" 5400rp/m) and i told him to check the HDD if its faulty im out of suggestions

I honestly thank you for helping me! Unfortunately there was no success in the end... i will check the hdd and get another one.
************* [ - Post Merged - ] ************* IT WORKED! i just formatted the new hdd one more time, reinstalled rogero and waited in front of the blackscreen for 15min's . tada, the "first-time-installation" appeared and now i'm on xmb. ![]() <3 FaxiY Last edited by noidea; 01-13-2013 at 01:44 PM. |

I installed Multiman, copied some files from an external hdd and quitted it, because it told me it will take about 140min. Then i had a freeze.
i rebootet and had to restore my filesystem. It takes about 10min to reach 15%, afterwards it takes 5min for 1 %. I left the ps3 on overnight, in the morning the ps3 was off and when i restarted, there was the same problem (restoring file format) So i'm now able to install rogero on the new hdd, but there are several problems (waiting for the blackscreen to disappear for about 15min, restoring file format takes hours, copying files takes much longer than before..) What could be the source of these problems? the hdd? UPDATE: After 1,5h the restore filesystem is on 25%.. UPDATE: More than 3h and still only 34%. i will stop it.. UPDATE: I checked the HHD with a software called Crystal Dsik Info and got the result that there are current pending sectors.. could this explain the problems?
