Dear Donkey Punch,
I have not yet tried the process you wanted me to follow. I just wanted to make sure that I really have no other way except this. I am not able to turn on my console. Every time I switch it on it switches on with the green light and then immediately shuts down with not even the red light on. I need to press the switch to get the red light and then again to get the green, followed by an immediate shut down. Please advice.

I know you want @donkey-punch to hold your hand. But if you follow the guide he directed to you, it will unbrick your PS3.
The first step is soldering 1 wire to keep your PS3 on, so you can flash.
So to do that, find your a pic of your mobo here.
After you get your PS3 to stay on for flashing. I would suggest flashing your valid dump, then copy it to your PC. Erase off sd card, then make a backup of the nor flash.
After you do that, use HxD, under the analysis tab, choose file compare. Compare your original dump, and the backup you made after flashing your original dump. If it says they are identical, then the clip is on secure and flashing properly.
Once you know the clip is on secure, continue with the guide and your PS3 will be fixed.
