I recently bought a used ps3, to find out it was on firmware 4.31. Now im very new to ps3's, but from my research I know that to jailbreak I must downgrade. When I checked my minimum version, it said 4.10 or later, so I would assume i'm pretty much screwed with that one, correct me if i'm wrong? My question is, is there any possible way for me to download games through torrents and play them? Or am i stuck purchasing games..

Same problem here guyzzz!!!! I purchased a new Ps3 on 1st jan....found that it was on a firmware 4.21.... I searched youtube first and found a video with some gud comments which showd how to jailbreak from any firmware to 4.25 cfw and play downloaded games etc. now i am aware af all those things that that ws a fake one....only 3.55 can b jailbreaked and 4.xx cant b downgraded without any hardware mess....so i am all left with my YOYO...i just want to ask that is there any rumour about development of further ofw jailbreaks or downgrade without hardware mess??

Also, I doubt very much you could even downgrade yours with hardware if bought new this year.

I bet you coudn't even downgrade your console if you had a flasher. The most annoying thing for me is You are to tight to even perchase a hardware flasher if it was possible to downgrade your console. You want everything on a plate from games right through to the ability to play backups you want to pay nothing. I hope you enjoy your ofw for like ever.

It will probably never happen. Because the private keys needed are unattainable.

Bro...i live in a place where no one is enough experienced with these stuff!!! When i ws in US...everything ws available like hardware modders etc..so i am not used to these hardware moddings...I can just do soft mods.. Ok....as you already cursed me...i gotta do something let my ps3 be as it is atleast for three months then i will try hardware modding by maself....if possible at that time...if my ps gets messd so soon....i will be kickd out of my house...

I recently returned to india......that too on a non developed area!!! Anyways my ps3 model no. is CECH 4008A
