E3 Flasher and broken eject button..
Hi
So I have been following baileyscream's fool proof jailbreaking guide with the E3 flasher limited edition. The installation of the E3 flasher went smoothly and I had my Nor dump checked as well. However, when I reached the point when I have to enter factory service mode with my development USB.....I got stuck with pressing the power and eject button sequence. I could not trigger factory service mode. I realized that my eject button was not working and I think I broke some of the prongs of the connections from the ps3 slim motherboard(CECH-21XXX). Is there another way to trigger the factory service mode without the eject button? After fiddling with the motherboard and ribbon cables I could get the eject button to work but the lights and the power button doesn't work. TL;DR Followed baileyscreams jailbreak guide, stuck on this screen , can't enter service mode with either a broken power button or broken eject button.BTW I am using an e3 card reader as well... and many thanks in advance! |

I guess there's no way to enter service mode without the two physical buttons on the ps3 slim? |

technically it will always be possible to bypass the power and eject button with 2 wires. the power and eject button would have resistors on the mainboard where you can solder wires too....the connector is probably too small to solder anything to? |

************* [ - Post Merged - ] ************* Here are the same pictures but I think I uploaded a higher quality photos! img577.imageshack.us/img577/3017/ps32g.jpg This picture shows the exposed copper prongs after you remove the ribbon clip. It's missing prongs! imageshack.us/a/img853/9484/ps31a.jpg Here is a picture of the ribbon clip that supposed to go on top of the prongs (circled in blue) the object in the red circle is a copper prong broken off from the motherboard. I hope these pictures help! I am so close to finishing this downgrade but so far! Oh and I don't think I can take much better photos than these.. my phone can't focus too close to the mobo Last edited by d2damax; 01-14-2013 at 04:34 PM. |

it's clear enough, if you have some solder skills then it maybe easier to solder a bypass wire then to get that part from the connector back on?
